LL's U of Buffalo team won the MAC east another notch in the WIAC belt. I know the MAC and Big Ten have bowl match ups is there any chance of UW an Buffalo meeting in a bowl game?

That's an exciting thought. I did check out the sbnation site and they have a few projections, none that include a B1G opponent. They do mention there may be a chance for a B1G if things fall into place. I hope so. Should be a heck of a game against NIU.

Almost impossible this year. Best chance for any MAC-B1G matchup is in a NY-6 game, provided MAC champ is highest ranked among the other mid-major champs. Otherwise none of the conference bowl commitments include MAC-B1G matchups. And if you get down to the bottom-tier bowls that could go off the board, even a 7-5 Badger team is too desirable to fall to that level.

Too bad, though. I think those mid-major vs. Power 5 bowl games are most interesting.

Sept. 2, 2023 Buffalo opens the season at the Camp against the Badgers. You might have to wait until then to see this match-up...no one
really knows who will be the Buffalo HC at that time.

As I thought, the UWW lines are dominating early on - and will make for a long day for the Green Knights.

It's a ball game here at the Perk. 17-14 under 3 to go till half

gbpuckfan

Halftime
SNC 14
UWW 24

SNC came close to holding UWW out of the endzone just before the half but could not do it. Could be big

SNC miscues not helping. Allowed a blocked punt for a short field that led to a TD, and SNC missed a field goal.

SNC doing a better job offensively than I thought. But UWW offensive lines dominating for the run game, and despite the two scores, UWW defense doing a good job.

SNC need(s)(ed) to play a perfect game to have a chance but hasn't done so to this point.

Snc miscues resulted in a TD on their first touchdown. A bit of luck never hurts.

All in all not a bad half for the knights

Congrats to Whitewater.

It was 17-14 UWW in the second, but UWW outscores SNC 37-7 the rest of the way.

The scores late in the second and early in the third (off a turnover, IIRC) gave UWW a 31-14 lead and they cruised from there. Just too good upfront for UWW, too many turnovers & mistakes by SNC, and just too much talent by UWW.

Good luck next week.

And, good job the TV production crew. Entertaining to listen to, and very well produced...

The Dess catch at the end of the first half was phenomenal. What a play. Dubdub receivers are awesome. I like their backs too but the guy who doesn't get the credit he deserves is Perez, the fullback. Guy's a mauler.

Anybody know what Bullis was chirping about with about 2 minutes left? Almost seemed like his beef was with the SNC staff. Chucking it into the end zone from 40 yards out with 2 minutes left and a 27-point lead might suggest the same. That seemed more unsportsmanlike than the prior play when he actually got flagged for unsportsmanlike.

Great season, UWW. And good luck next week against BU. They will bring the kitchen sink and be ready to brawl, I have no doubt.  The West and South will turn out the games of the week for sure.  The other half... snooze.

Not sure but I know the SNC d-line was yelling "Go!" in the first half causing our oline to jump a few times. "Go" is Cole's word for "hike", so the oline fell for it a few times. Listening to the post game, I guess saying "Go" was SNC's  signal for the dline to shift.

Sounds like the refs put a stop to that in the second half.

With two minutes left, Coach Bullis was protecting his players. Preston Strasburg got his head slammed on the ground out of bounds after being driven back at least five steps. Contact was initiated at the numbers. He was still fighting, so it was all good until about halfway between the numbers and the sideline. At that point, the ref blew his whistle and two defenders kept driving him backwards, ultimately slamming his head into the turf out of bounds.  The penalty was not on Coach Bullis. The play was on the UW-W sidelines, so you can imagine the players took offense. The unsportsmanlike conduct penalty was on one of the players.

Great win Warhawks! Win and advance!  That's what this time of year is about. An especially satisfying win for three St. Norbert alumni on the Warhawk staff.  As far as the final TD pass, I don't have a problem with it.  3rd and long. Back up QB reps are important.  It wasn't a trick play, it was just a deep post.  We just had a running back knocked out of the game from a cheap shot. I see zero obligation to let them load up on the run and take more shots at another running back in that circumstance.
