DuffMan,

I'm sure St. John's really wants to make another playoff trip to WW to play the "blind squirrels"....another real A--KICKING like last year!!

I think everyone thought Linfield was untouchable last season, too, and we all saw what happened there :P

Serious questions for the board many of these questions were compiled at a bull session at Nigl's on Ohio and 9th last night):

1) Was the 2006 season for Oshkosh a bust?  Realistically, what should they have expected for a record this year?

2) Is Titan Stadium with the new field turf a great place to play, or is it just lipstick on a pig?

3) What kind of recruiting year is Oshkosh having?

4) Will Phil Meyer be back in 2007 or will he go to the NFL as an assistant to Gruden when he gets fired at Tampa Bay and goes somewhere else?

I'd like to know what any of you WIAC fans think.

I have been to Titan Stadium and from what I saw I didn't like it.  For one it looked like there was no crown to the field and this is probably because soccer is played on it.  Thats another thing.  I dont like the extra lines that are painted on it for soccer.  I know Platteville has soccer lines on theirs but for that field it's not quite as noticeable.  My rankings for fields in the WIAC

1) Plattville
2) Eau Claire
3) Whitewater
4) La Crosse
5) Stout (would be 4 if they had field turf instead)
6) Oshkosh
tied for last Stevens Point and River Falls

Like I said before, you put Beaver, Stanley, or anyone else in the WIAC in the Stout offense and they would be no names.

_____________

This is also an uneducated statement.

Wendt is one of the elite receivers in the WIAC.... Stanley is one of the elite receivers in the nation.

Wendt would start at WW.... opposite of Stanley, but he's not a better receiver than Stanley.

My opinion, UWO field is very near the top, at least top 3.

Season has to be considered a bust. Even after losing to WW I thought they might run the table the rest of the way and make the play offs.

Big game for LAX\UWO Saturday. I will be there if the weather is at all decent. Should be the game of the week in the WIAC.

No clue what Meyer will do.
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

never said anyone was better then anyone.  just simply stating that you could put T.O. and L.T. in the Stout offense and they would not put up consistant numbers.  Now put Joe Shmo and Jon Doe on the UW Whitewater offense and they would put up great numbers.

Ok..... WW must people a really good team for us to be comparing them to a NFL team.  They just can't be a great d3 football team, with great talent? Denver's offense cant perform with out the rush, that is not the case for WW. If that is the case then why why did WW have two "2" WR with 1000 yds last season, and several TD. I don't recall anytime when Denver was a 50/50 pass to rush offense. The only similarities is that they are both a zone blocking team.  If we go back two season this same offense couldn't score if they had to, most of the time (well at least nothing like the past two seasons) you are right about the coaching staffs. WW has the best Defensive Cord. in d3 period, the smartest Offensive Cord. in d3 (not always the best at game calling), and a great strength coach. Stout does seem to missing some key components on that roster and the coaching staff. I am not saying that the before mentioned players are not any good, but starting over Beaver (2000yd rusher) Stanley "top 10 WR in the draft this year" coming from NFL scouts. Is just ridiculous. I know all three of those guys i spoke about personally, and have no foul feeling about any of them. I didn't bake cookies with any of them just share a drink or two.  Their talent I am not trying to speak about lets just say we will never know.  8)

To touch the statement about Stanley moving to Stout, you are crazy to think that 4.3 speed 40'+ verticle and crazy athleticism would be a no name. If I remember right D made his name on Special teams to start his career (All American track and Special Teams). There is no one ever in d3 to have the talent including all players in WW history) that has the abilities of this kid. He would be known by the nation even if the team was losing.

The two guys are Booker Stanley RB from UW, and WR/DB cant remember name. but I think it was best they didn't come though Booker would have made a huge contribution on the field. Like before poster the cohesiveness is great right now, so lets keep the team together as is NO additions.  ;)

Derek can play QB come to practice and watch the lefty.

Here's a big shoutout to Brady Pitz.  Buried deep in the depth chart the junior running back wasn't getting much of an opportunity.  To say that he seized and took advantage of the opportunity when it came his way is a gross understatement.  He not only took advantage of it he made a statement that the staff will be hard pressed not to reward with more carries and time on the field.

You gotta love it when somebody steps up like that.

Badgerwarhawk, you hit it right on the head... Brady Pitz was amazing!!!
Me and sharpee were talking, reminds us a little bit of a smaller Beaver (not saying he could completely replace Beav, no one can do that) but he hit the holes hard and three just beautiful long runs

By the way... the D-1 DB was Antonio Freeman from UW, don't know what happened to him, and Booker Stanley is in jail for the next 50 years, we didnt need that kind of guy in whitewater anyways

Here's a topic for discussion:

Ditka or the 2006 Warhawks?

Im happy to say that I predicted all four winners this week.
Anyway,
Some interesting things I saw going over the games this past week.
Whitewater held Eau Claire to 107 yards.
Whitewater had a guy play linebacker and fullback.
Stevens Point and Platteville combined for 921 yards of offense.
Difference in Point vs. Platteville game was Point D forced 3 turnovers to Platteville forcing 0.
4 teams put up 400+ yards of offense
And there were a handful of guys who put up some good numbers this week on the offensive side of the ball
