.......I am not saying that the before mentioned players are not any good, but starting over Beaver (2000yd rusher) Stanley "top 10 WR in the draft this year" coming from NFL scouts.

I think Stanley is an amazing talent and no doubt will have an opportunity to play professional football, but I would love to read the publication that says he is one of the "top ten WR in the draft this year."  That's a bold statement.

This was not an opinion that i made. This was stated by the Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions, and the NY. Jets regional scouts. This was not something that was written yet but those are the words of their scouts. You can doubt it if you want, i didn't day it just listened to it be said

Don't always believe what scouts have to say. Sometimes they blow smoke in order to serve the interests for which they work - sometimes merely to blow smoke. In this regard, Derek Stanley from Whitewater is listed as #67 among WRs for the 2007 draft by Pro Football Weekly's 2006-2007 Pro Prospects Preview published in 8/06 and historically a generally reliable source. Partly because of scouts' general attitude that DIII prospects are more risky than prospects from higher collegiate levels, it is extremely rare when a DIII prospect is rated  nearly as high as #10 at his position.

I have a question for Pat?  how possible is it that a WIAC team (most likely LaCrosse) goes to another region for the playoffs to make the shorter drive for a team like St. Norberts or a Illinois team?  I doubt they would move WW to the North with Mt. Union being their #1 seed, but how possible for LaCrosse?

There's precedent for La Crosse moving over -- that should be a guide that it would be possible again.

I think the NCAA is more concerned with $$$ (ie travel distance in the first round) than with having UWW and MUC in the same region.  Not that I see them doing that this year, but if it made fiscal sense, I don't think they'd bat an eye.

im just thinking it would make more sense with a Pool C team to be moved regions than a conference champ. and previous runner up.

UMHB scores with 1 min left & lead 33-28.  I guess they missed the 2 point conversion.  Sounds like they have a major hangover from last week.  Makes WW's win even more impressive.

Bobo, I am not trying to rip on UWW's performance, nor do I care to get into a pissing match.  I just would like to know how this makes UWW's win even more impressive.

wiacfbgrad, just reporting what the guys in Texas were speculating about.  UMHB had difficulty with an inferior opponent, whereas WW dominated one.  The only common demominator was that they play last week in a very emotional game.  Granted, conditions were different, but from the surface, WW appeared to bounce back to their status quo better than UMHB.  Look, my friend, would you agree WW had the larger obstacles to overcome, i.e. long trip, losing their only proven back, the conception that they were outplayed (statistically), but still won, etc. I'm just saying they overcame the adversity better. Nothing more, nothing less.  Don't read more into what's there.

This appears to usually have been their thinking in the past.

Does that mean Whitewater vs. Concordia (Wis) in the first round??

uww0212

I would think that a St. Norbert matchup would be more likely.

Brady Pitz was great in HS at Dodgeville. He is a great athlete and an example of the depth at UWW. However, he is also an example of how good your OL and system is.  Good enough to win championship, I don't know! Would be a nice ending to Coach B to bring home the gold. God Bless YOU!

Having secured the conference's automatic bid the most important thing now is to maintain the #1 regional seeding and it's home field in the playoffs and that means focusing on River Falls.  There'll be a time to focus on the playoffs but it isn't this week.
