I don't think so. From what I've heard on the D3football.com and In the (d3) Football Huddle podcasts, it sounds like the new "criteria" leans heavily on won loss percentage. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds to me like 9-1 teams will be even more likely than in the past to be chosen ahead of high quality 8-2 teams.

I think that might have happened last year.  ::)

UWO with another very impressive win over Linfield. I saw QB Keene went out, presumably with an injury? I hope he's ok as I was very impressed with him last week. Cole Warren with a POW type performance off the bench. I am impressed with UWO's defense, particularly against the run. Trae Tetzlaff is proving himself to be an elite WR as teams are very focused on him and yet he continues to produce.

I will be very interested to see how UWO holds up over the course of a brutal WIAC schedule. If they end up being a middle of the pack WIAC team, then wow to the WIAC......

It's not an injury, but rather a coaches decision to play Warren. And that is confirmed by Oshkosh two deep posted in Tech game notes. Warren gets the start Saturday.

Very strange coaches decision IMO. I thought Keene was better.

La Crosse toppled D2 Northern Michigan 35-21 on Saturday in La Crosse. While a win over a D2 foe is always welcome, the Eagles allowed 6.3 YPC while gaining only 2.7 themselves. NMU ran an option offense at times and lost for the 14th straight game. Things will be tougher for the Eagles this week as they visit Grand Valley State, the 2nd ranked team in D2. An Eagle win would be a real accomplishment.

For those of you interested in the Wabash/UW-Platteville game, here are the Wabash game notes.

By all indications, this is going to be an uphill battle for the Little Giants. While the LGs are 2-0 on the season, the Pioneers are going to be a significant step up in terms of overall size, speed, and most importantly, experience at the skill positions.  Wabash has a completely re-vamped defense under a new DC and comes into the game with a lack of experience in the skill positions.  Games against the WIAC rarely result in a Wabash win but gives us a chance to see how we stack up against the best conference in the country.

See you all on Saturday.

Good luck and safe travels. I wouldn't be surprised to see Wabash make a good game out of this.

Warhawks stinking up the Perk like we haven't seen in a very, very long while. An absolutely horrendous 1st half performance by UWW. Is UMHB this good or is UWW this bad?

The Third Division

I think Whitewater needs to find a qb they can settle with for longer than a year.

UWO gets trounced at home by D2 Michigan Tech, 44-7... Warren threw a pair of INT's, but the story of the game was UWO struggling to stop the Tech offense.

I think you're on to something here. Neither QB looked comfortable.

Michigan Tech has a legit team this year.

Platteville got down 14-0 against Wabash at the end of the 1st quarhter. They then out scored Wabash 42-7 to win 42-21. Zach Bothun rushed for over 120 yards and scored 4 touchdowns. Platteville gets the week off before starting WIAC play. They play LaX, RF, Oshkosh and WW in their first 4 conference games.

02 Warhawk

That was all sorts of pathetic from UWW. Haven't seen an offense that inept in a long time.
