Great game!

First of all thanks to Whitewater for allowing this game to be free over the net. I'm sure it had to cost them something to give it to us for free. So thanks.

The production was excellent for a student station. The announcers did an decent job. I thought the cameras and graphics were awesome.

4th quarter interception and lost fumble won't cut it against a better team.

Good season for LAX.

Good sports the Hawks for the kneel downs.

Wow, what a nailbiter!!  I am so glad it's over.  Hopefully we learned a bunch in this game that we can use next week!!!  A little too close for comfort, but I'll take it.  Great to see Justin Beaver running again this year.  He looked good to me.  Kudos to Pete, AJ, Ryan and everybody.  Football is a TEAM SPORT.  Thank goodness we get another week.  But we can't have these turnovers next week.  We just can't do it!!!!  Hi 5's to footballfan413.  Hope you were cheering for me on site because I was cheering here in BCland.  I was able to get the webcast.  It was great, really.  Thanks guys for having a free game!!  It's nice to see players I haven't seen since last December!!

Great game...glad it was webcasted.  The students did do a commendable job on the broadcast. Great improvement over the first game I heard this year vs Azuza.  Well done.  Let's try to get another before the end of the year!!

Difficult beating the same team twice.

A couple uncharacteristic miscues by the Warhawk special teams kept
the Eagles in the game early in the 2nd half.  But, UWL play well.  Just didn't
finish strong, but WW D had something to do with that, too.

WW proved to be the better team at the end.

Beaver looked like the old Beaver (36-226 6.3/carry).  Good game.  I think he took every running play today.  Even missing 6 games or whatever, if he isn't All-American and the best back around, something is seriously wrong.  He looked shaky in pass protection, but he ran hard, put his head down and took the hits.  Well done!

LaX TE was a major factor, Schumann (sp?) (24-35 passing) looked sharp most of the game, just ran out of luck toward the end.  The backs ran hard (127 yards total), but I think the Eagles abandoned the run too soon in the second half...again. Very good team.  Kudos go to the Eagles!!

Congrats to both teams for making the last couple hours enjoyable.

As for the game. I only got to see part of the first half, all the second half, so I can't make an overall statement. I can say La Crosse completely dominated the 2nd half but was bit in the ars by a big pass play. Obviously WW moved the ball all of the first half, so it was probably similar in their favor the first 30 minutes.

To me this is less of an indictment of WW as it is an example of how good La Crosse was. I'm sure we'll hear how bad Whitewater played but La Crosse had a ton to do with that. Fun game to watch.

Hopefully this gets people (especially the old timers in La Crosse) off of Larry Terry and his staff. To get blown out on the same field a month ago and come within an eyelash of the upset, speaks to their preparation and adjustments from the last meeting. From what I've been reading and what the coaches voted (11 1st teamers), Whitewater had the advantage at every position, except probably the secondary. If their line, QB, RB, WR, TE are all better than what you have (theoretically), you're probably in for a long day.

This is the best coaching job I've seen since I started at La Crosse in '98. They've had more talent in the past but this was the most consistent they've ever been. In the past they've dropped games, or struggled in games, they should have dominated. They also were the least penalized team in the league. Negatively they had the worst TO ratio, which in a way makes their overall consistency more impressive.

That said, when I left WW a month ago, I thought La Crosse was much closer to Whitewater than the score indicated, yet Whitewater was still a lot better. No doubt in my mind WW is the better team but great job La Crosse in nearly going on the road and pulling it off.
Good luck 'Hawks. Represent

Finally back home after a postgame pizza.  Two pretty evenly matched teams, it seemed.  Whitewater made a few more mistakes, and it looked like they were going to have it taken away by a LaCrosse team that played very well, especially on offense.

Nice to see a clutch fourth quarter touchdown, and then the D stepping up.

LaCrosse had a real good offensive approach, mixed their plays well and controlled the D line of UWW.  That's a good team.  It all came down to the one big play.

Here come the Johnnies again ....
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

It all came down to the one big play.

I only watched on the webcast, but it appeared to me that this game was more than one big play. Certainly the 2 mishaps on the short-range WW FG attempts with a kicker who was nearly automatic all year played a big role.  Of course, UWL blocked the first one, but on the second, had the WW guy tried to pick up the ball after chasing it down and missed, there were a couple eager Eagles ready to return the ball 60 yards for a TD.  That was a good, alert play, but a total disaster in the making. The UWL defensive stop prior to the failed kick was huge then.  WW had the first and goal from the 4 following the long pass to Stanley in which he beat Teeples easily. If UWL doesn't make that defensive stop, it turns into a 24-7 game at that point.  Big momentum shift following those plays.  Plus, how 'bout the Schumann pass that drew a defensive pass interference penalty on Whitewater, that could have gotten UWL out of a hole.  But, that Schumann was also penalized on the play for being over the line of scrimmage.  Remember the DPI was waved off and UWL was penalized.  That was a big play, too.  How about the 4th & 9 pass from the WW 29 that was just off the fingertips of the wide open receiver in endzone.  My opinion is that this game came down to more than the 53 yard pass play with 5 min remaining.  You are right KitchenSink, it was a good, entertaining game to watch, but I feel full of big plays.

I will go out on a limb by saying it's not surprising that it was a very competitive game considering who the combatants were.  I think most people had UWW winning by a larger margin.  Eventhough many of UWW's troubles were self-inflicted, UWL did have a good game plan and nearly took it to victory.  They just lacked the finishing execution.  I think the better team won, today.  But, they are more evenly matched than the first game indicated.

Attendance was only 3,000 according to the official stats on the WW athletic site.  That had to be rather disappointing even on Thanksgiving Weekend.  Everyone knows SJU will probably bring at least 3000 down next week.
