Should be a great game and an awesome tailgate at the Perk. Goo Crew is going with Italian Beef, Sausage, and Chili and maybe a few Bloody Marys to fight the cold...The Oline must/will continue to open gaping holes for #32 or whoever. POUND THE ROCK and FLUSH THE JOHNS.......

Having been at last year's game and having followed the Johnnies closely this year and UWW from afar, I'm not holding out much hope for a Johnnie win this weekend.  UWW has a hell of a team this year, especially with Beaver back, and I even publicly stated that I had lost faith in SJU this year and understood that this just wasn't their season.  Who knows, maybe the Johnnies can keep it close and sneak out a win.  I'm sure I'll spend the rest of the week figuring out a way that they can keep it close.  Hell, I even volunteered to drive out there on Saturday while the rest of the travelling party slept so I could try to figure out some way we might win the game.

Here's to a good game.  It should be a fun week.

GO JOHNNIES!!!

I loved this paragraph, you know the, "try and make 'em overlook us," strategy.  St. Norbert's College's Coach Purtell already tried that one and it didn't work too well for them.   ;)  The Johnnies are a formidible opponent every year and will not be overlooked by the coaches and the players or any WIAC poster if they are smart. No one is more dangerous than a team with revenge on their minds!!  UW-L showed us that.  Congrats to the Eagles on an outstanding year.  They are a terriffic football team and gave the Hawks all they could handle.  I believe that a tough game like that with the Hawks making some mistakes and having to keep their poise and come from behind will benefit them.  Looking forward as well to a great week, tailgate and game.  The Johnny Nation was a very classy bunch last year and all are welcome to the Perk.  You travel amazingly well!  Just hope we can make your journey home a long one again this year.   ;D

I love this paragraph too however your assertion that Coach Purtell played possum would make sense if he actually had a chance to win. UWW could have triple monkey stomped the Knights in going away fashion.

To quote GHC;  Phone it in!  :D

Developing....

Agreed, but play possum, he did!  ;D

Purtill pre-game:
"I think we can play with a lot of teams in the national playoffs, but this is a big, big mountain."
"We're going to need to borrow a few extra prayers from our priest," added Purtill. "We're going to do our best to try and hang with them."

Purtill post-game:

"That's probably as good a team that we played in the playoffs," said St. Norbert coach Jim Purtill. "They played pretty well today; I was trying to do everything I could to make them look past us. That's a really good football team. I'll be very surprised if they're not in the title game again. Unless something freaky happens, I'm saying they're in the national title game."

Football Fan;  Coach Purtill also prolly thought Central as the #2 seed was going to beat the #7 seed...  :-*

Warhawk posters: I know your webmaster of warhawkfootball.com Tom aka "Voice" recently suffered a stroke.  I am wondering how he is doing.  Will he be able to attend the game on Saturday?  It was a pleasure meeting him prior to the game last season.

Don't miss Johnnie Red's Stiftungsfestivities parties.  This guy is a tremendous host and really is a terrific ambassador for Division 3 football.  Don't be shy and make sure to introduce yourself with your posting moniker.  Oldpa will remember many of us...

Duff,
We're all searching the Internet to see where you are employeed.  No wonder the MIAC board has over 1,000 pages of content.  What else do you do all day?? Are you hiring??  I'd like a job, if possible.

Dusty,
No, I think the "something freaky" Purtill was referring to was having the Johnnies upset the Hawks on Saturday in their own house!    ;)

For all those out there that have met or know Tommy "The Voice", he was at the game Saturday walking with the aid of a cane.  He is making progress and doing much better.  I am sure he will be at the game next Saturday (you will probably see him on the field again).

Looking forward to seeing all the Johnnie fans, it should be a great game.  Weather looks like it could be nasty, like some of the games we had to play last year.

Watch out for Justin Beaver, he is back and ready for another 200+ yard game!!!

Watch out Duff, you are talking to a DIVISION MANAGER. They may buy your company at any time, just to liquidate it for a profit.

Glad to hear Voice is doing well.  I too had the pleasure of meeting him last year at Whitewater.  Hope to see Tom again in 6 days.

Sorry if we're a little hesitant to start making lofty predictions (42-14.... just throwin it out there ;D) after the brow-beating that we put on Lax.

Here's a question to ponder.... St. Johns vs La Crosse.... who wins that game???

We'll have a little better idea of that after this saturday, but curious to see what people think.

Two Johnnies boarded a flight out of Chicago.  One took a window seat, and the other sat
next to him in the middle seat.  Just before takeoff, a Whitewater fan sat down in the aisle seat.

After takeoff, the WW fan kicked his shoes off, wiggled his  toes and was settling
in when the Johnnie in the window seat said,  "I need to get up and get a coke."

"Don't get up," said the WW fan, "I'm in the aisle seat, I'll get it for you."  As  soon
as he left, one of the Johnnies picked up the WW fan's shoe and spat in it.

When he returned  with the coke, the
other Johnnie said, "That looks good, I'd really like one, too." Again, the WW fan obligingly
went to fetch it.  While he was gone the other Johnnie picked up his other shoe and  spat in
it. When the WW fan returned, they all sat back and enjoyed the flight.

As the plane was landing, the WW fan slipped his feet into his shoes and knew
immediately what had happened.  "Why does it have to be this way?" he asked. "How long must this go on?
This fighting between our schools?  This hatred?.... This animosity?.... This spitting
in shoes and  pissing in the cokes?"

Should be a great game Saturday in the cold. Sure seemed like there was a lot more than 3000 at the Perk last Saturday but we know there will be a lot of red there this weekend. That's OK because there will be a lot of purple at the Perk this weekend also. If the OLine continues to dominate and we stop the turnovers the Warhawks should come out on top. Goo Crew will be set up by 9:00A.M......POUND THE ROCK WARHAWKS!! FLUSH THE JOHNS!!.....
