I don't know about the rest of the posters but I will admit it.  The Warhawks are scared to death of the Johnnies.  I hear half the team didn't show up to practice this week.    ;)

Apparently, they didn't show up to practice because they were too busy reading Post Patterns!

How do you think they got scared in the first place?  ;D

I thought it was because Kleppe heard that I called him old, so he called me up for an apology.  I then told him to be scared.

A tradition unrivaled...

I'm surprised they still have to practice.  Or are they working on fresh plays to show UMHB and MUC?   ;)

I like this version!!  Amazing how a little adjustment in font can change the whole message.  ;D

I just figured out how to import a picture.  We may have to bring Anna and Hamm's pics to the WIAC board now, LOL!

Q.  Honey, do these pants make me look fat?
A.  No, but your thighs do.

Q: How do you like my new hair cut?
A: If it was a christmas tree.... I wouldn't buy it.... or we'd have to put that side towards the wall.

But back to football.  Brez is announced his retirement this year.  Any word on how long Gagliardi is planning on coaching yet?

You will find the answer to that question at the bottom of the article.

Looking forward to my first taste of WIAC football this weekend when I fly in for NCAASports.com's broadcast.

The stadium, the game, the town -- should be fun.

This is one of those post that lets you know that people really do stop and think of the big picture...

I agree with SJU09, sure.  He states the truth.  But really... This is a message board for fans.  The 'Serious, looking at the wider, bigger picture type guy' is only one of a large number of persona that one may choose to project here.

All this effort from the UWW folk trying to pressure the Johnnies into admitting that the 'Serious poster type guy' is the only legitimate type smacks of insecurity to me.  Sounds like you folks are really, really hoping your team is good, but are afraid it isn't.  And the only serious poster is the one that admits Warhawk world domination.  Sounds just like a woman asking if her butt looks fat.  "No really tell me the truth.  You're not being serious.  How about now?  Does it still look fat?"

My prediction: your team has as much self doubt as you all have in them and they choke.

28 - 21, Johnnies.

In that case, Whitewater wins 49 - 7. Does this mean I'm a serious poster now? A team that is 25-1 in the past two years has a TON of self doubt and very little confidence....the thing is once the "serious" posters put in their two cents (i.e. an earlier post where UWW wins 59-3), we are being overzealous and "cocky" as was mentioned before....make up your minds.

25-1 in the past two years, huh?  That's all in the past :D  We're talking about this weekend.

Ok, then Whitewater is 12-0 THIS YEAR....and we STILL have zero confidence in our abilities and we are scared to death.....NOW am I considered a serious poster?

Duff, I hate to say it, but you're being dim here - and you're usually so bright.

History is anything before last season.  This weekend includes all time from opening day last year until the final whistle on Saturday.  And a good argument could be made that wormholes allow the proceeding seasons (diminished only by final game conference championship losses to UWL) to significantly flavor this weekend (from opening day last year, of course) to be very positive.

All this applies to UWW only.  For the Johnnies this weekend begins and ends on Saturday's last play.  Unless the Johnnies win.  In which case this weekend didn't happen.

NOW am I considered a serious poster?

Got it backwards, dude.  You're only a serious poster if you predict a Johnny defeat while being a Johnny.  If support UWW then you are by default a serious poster and cannot be dislodged from that position.

lilpeds

Well that sure sucks. I guess my life is worthless now, not that it ever was worthwhile in the first place. All Johnny fans contradict themselves, I'm just trying to pick one of them that seems less futile than the other. Not astonshingly, I'm finding this very difficult.

I'm now a Johnny fan and predict a Johnny defeat, 49-7 at the hands of a better, more-talented Whitewater team. Good season though Johnnies, I went to every home game and rooted you on every week! I even bought plane tickets for last weeks game and saw the good victory! I just feel bad they have to play a much more superior Whitewater team. Too bad for the seniors, they fought hard, blah blah blah, etc. etc. etc.

So is this self-doubt, or cockiness?

uww0212

Kind of interesting that nobody has brought up common opponents.

UWW vs River Falls  48-16
SJU vs River Falls  41-9
=
DRAW

UWW vs Eau Claire  34-0
SJU vs Eau Claire 15-11
=
Advantage UWW

I agree with Retagnet that each game is it's own entity, as teams match up differently against each other, but still thought i'd throw that out there.
