Fortunately we won't be replaying any of those thirteen games.

Are you sure they wouldn't want to replay the three they won??? ;D
2008-09 and 2012-13 WIAC Fantasy League Champion

2008-09 WIAC Pick'Em Tri-Champion

UDub Fever

Bottom line is this...............Whitewater has the swagger this year to win it all.  They are a confident team in all aspects of football.  They can shut any team down with their defense lead by coach Borland and their offense is running on all cylinders with Jacobs and company as well as Beaver and the O-line.  Just a thought.................maybe special teams will play a huge factor in the game.  I still believe UDubDub has the edge.  Look for a special teams score from the Hawks.  That has been one of our strengths in recent years.  Beat those Eagles...................10 of the last 13 doesn't mean anything.  All that matters is what is left on the field come Saturday.

Patek will start, but is only at 85%-90%

Oshkosh @ Platteville: Folks, these are two teams going in totally two different directions. With or without Patek, Oshkosh's game plan is going to run the ball down the Pioneers throat. Seeing how every team has done that against them, I see no way on how the Pioneers are going to stop Oshkosh. And oh yeah, by the way, how is Platteville's O going to fare against Oshkosh's D? Too many questions for Platteville. though, it is their homecoming, and they are looking for revenge for last years smackdown.

in a very close one

Oshkosh 34
Platteville 33  double OT
WARNING SHAMELESS PLUG: For those interested..I will be doing the play by play of the broadcast for 90.3 WRST. You can listen to the game on www.uwosh.edu/wrst

So, UW-O's defense is so good that the Pioneers score 33 points and are able to muster enough to force two OT's, just because it's homecoming?  That's funny.

UWP
Whitewater
Falls
Stout

Mr. Downtown

lets put it this way...

Oshkosh should have easily beat River Falls on Paper...

but they didn't

There should have been no way Oshkosh would beat Stout on Paper...

but they did

So right now with this Oshkosh team, expect the unexpected. Sure, Platteville has nothing going well for them right now. But its really tough in this conference to tell who is emotionally in the game or not. Being homecoming, and the fact they got their butts kicked last year, I expect Platteville to come out strong in the beginning and make this a decent game...

I just went with a double OT pick, because I will be at the game and I would like to keep the trend of three straight exciting games (well..2 and half..the River Falls was just a poorly played game on both parts, but still an overtime the game nonetheless).

Or i could be a jerk and say your team has no chance. Your pick...

This is what it's all about, gentlemen! WIAC football in the middle of the season! Picks are spread out this week, since this is such a great conference.
Leading up to my picks, here's a summary of how every one else has selected:
Oshkosh (14 votes) vs. Platteville (6)
Point (12) vs. River Falls (8)
Whitewater (12) vs. La Crosse (8)
UWEC (11) vs. Stout (9).

My picks
Going with the favorite, Oshkosh over Platteville.
Will take River Falls over a banged up Pointer squad.
Will be rooting for my Blugolds at Carson Park, so I'm picking UWEC to win the homecoming game for us...

And in the game of the week:
The Whitewater team that I watched on the 'Net broadcast that beat UWEC is for real. They are a playoff-caliber team. But with perfect weather, a full house, homecoming, and the tradition and history of Memorial Field, the Indians show why they are year in and year out the best program in the conference. UWL grinds out an OT victory.
Ooops. I should probably stop calling them Indians. Eagles.

OOops... Not sure how those smiley guys got in that last post. Those should be 8s for River Falls and UWL. But if you have a diploma from a WIAC school, though, you should have been able to figure it out. lol...

Blugolds over Blue Devils 17-9 ... interception and 49 yard return by Dan Rogney sets up EC at Stout 22. Gast scores on next play, his 2nd TD. EC now 8-0 against Stout in Homecoming games. Kryzanowski was 17 for 22 for about 170 yards.EC contained Wendt except for one big catch that set up their only TD in 4th Q.

UW-Stout kept running draws and QB sneaks the whole game; it got them some big plays, and did open up the field once or twice down field. But it seemed as if those were the only two plays they had...

Thought it might suck the Blugold d into a big play down field, and they got one, but that was it...

But other than that, Stout's offense wasn't effective the whole game against a Blugold defense that stepped up at least three times on key third downs late in the game...

Blugolds used a workman like offense, with Gast finally getting some yards and two TDs. Kryzanowski didn't put up fantasy football Marino-like numbers, at 17-22, for 150 yards. But he quietly got a W, like Tom Brady does for the Pats...

Great crowd...The box score says 6,000 people were at the game? This is my first game here against Stout in many years... Anyone who's been to a few of them in the past think there were that many fans in attendance???

Mr. Downtown

Oshkosh wins 30-28

A battle between Air and Ground attacks. Michael Schmidt was very impressive, 4 TD's in the Air. While Oshkosh had Moriarty run all over the place, as Mo broke the school rushing record in a game with 245 yards. He would have been this week's offensive player of the week, until Mr. Beaver took that away. Talk about running over a team....

Though, like my prediction, Platteville looked focused in this game. Back and forth between the teams all game. Platteville look better coming out of the gate, taking the lead 28-21. But after a FG, Oshkosh came back with a 4th and goal TD pass from Patek. Patek at times...seemed rusty, but he pulled off the big play at the end.

then the play of the game, Platteville driving down the field...and guess what.

For the second week in a row, Oshkosh comes up with a big interception to seal the game.

With the win, Oshkosh now secures their second straight Non-Losing season under Coach Meyer. Say what you want...but this program is improving. Should be a very interesting match up against Stevens Point next week for the Titans.
