Great job UWW. Bring the Stagg Bowl title back to the West & send Coach B. out in style!
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Someone refresh my memory....

The Stagg Bowl is scheduled for 3 p.m. CST on Saturday, right?

I watched the game last year with Whitewater, but didn't that start at noon? Can't remember... If it did start at noon, is there any reason why it is at 3 this year? Is it because the D2 game is also being played on Saturday, with a starting time before the D3 game?

JS

UWW fans are looking forward to the return trip to Salem.   Should be a great rematch of two quality teams.  It will be good to see all the UWW fans from around the country ready to cheer on a Warhawk victory in the Salem Stadium parking lot before the game.

Thanks to Olinemom for all your support.  It will be good to talk with you again and enjoy your brownies.  See you in Salem.

Pound the Rock!  Go Hawks!

Llamaguy

Wanted to throw an invite out from Stone Station at the Stagg Bowl.

Those of you who joined us and had the BBQ chicken last year, we will be doing the same again this year, only twice as much. The first batch will come off the grill at noon with the second batch finishing @ 2pm. As promised UWW's #1 out-of-town fan, Olinemom will be supplying the brownies at the tailgate. We are asking that any post patterns posters at the Stagg Bowl, stop by and sign the "poster sign-in" board. We are trying to have record of who is in attendance in an effort for posters to meet each other.

I would also like to invite any posters or lurkers to a post patterns get together at The Corn Beef & Co. in Roanoke Friday night at 7pm. It has a dinner menu + sports bar atmosphere and the D1-BCS game will be on the tube. I am told some of the D3Football.com dignitaries will be in attendance.

Finally, it looks as though the weather will be balmy for this time of year in Salem. 55 degrees and sunny on Saturday.

If you get a chance to come, do it! If you thought last year was great, wait 'til this year. As an attendee of the only primetime Stagg Bowl game in Salem,Bridgewater vs. Mt. Union in 2001, "its off the hook"! Three extra hours to tailgate and when those lights come on it just adds to the great game we are all expecting.

I hear that UWW is in the East stands this year. Just so happens Stone Station's 20 ticketholders are in Rows 1,2,&3 on the 50 yrd line, East stands. We will be sitting in the middle of WarHawk Nation. Good luck, safe travels, and we look forward to seeing everyone again on Saturday! ;)

Bulk - The game is at 3:00 CST. It has been at 11:00am or Noon as I recall in recent years. I would think it's a good guess that the reason is the Noon start for the D II game. I also see the Stagg is on ESPN, with the D II game on ESPN2. I wonder if the announce team is the same. Just as long as they don't put it on ESPN8 "THE OCHO"

D O.C.

Why thank-you, Llamaguy, but the reality for the fans of the Far West is that it is just too dang remote of a place for us to get to from Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles or San Diego. Even when we have a team in the Bowl we risk being in the dog house the rest of the holiday season if we try to go on a weeks notice. AND be reminded of it next year.
Give us a wave.

Pam Ward is doing play by play for ESPN.

Those of you with Tivo might want to consider delaying the TV broadcast about 45 seconds, muting the volume, and listening to our webcast audio. :)

Even though I've never been able to attend the AS bowl or have had the pleasure of sampling all the great food and company at STONE STATION  :( , I just want to give a huge shout out to John Coleman(skoaltrain), Bo Morris(Llamaguy), Olinemom(rumor has it that her brownies are to die for), and everyone else that makes the STONE STATION tailgate gathering possible for the many D3 parents, fans, etc.  The time taken and the huge effort these folks make to ensure that everyone in attendance has a great time is to be truly commended.  I would give anything to be able to make the trip down to see UWW and Mount Union "get it on" and moreso to be able to thank the STONE STATION organizers in person but since I can't....Here's to you John, Bo, et al, for being so selfless and making it all possible.  ;D

Well,

I have finally sobered up and back at work.  It was a great trip to Wisconsin, except for three hours on Saturday.  I want to give props to the UWW students who invited a few of us back to a post game kegger.  Had a great time!  Congrats to the Warhawks.  You guys are ready Mount Union.  Congrats to Jacobs, you were on fire!  Here are some more props...
1.  Breakfast at Jessica's, huge omlettes.
2.  Spotted Cow - New Glaurus Beer, I think I still see spots.
3.  Toppers Pizza - Kept me alive until the morning.
4.  Habib (not really his name) at the Super 8, for giving good directions.
5.  Steck's Liqour - for not overcharging drunk Wesley fans.

I'll be watching next weekend, go get 'em!

Thanks for the kinds words, oldhawk.  Are you sure you can't come down?  :D :D   There's a party Friday night.  I'm serving breakfast made by the bakery in Bridgewater on Saturday morning to anyone who comes to help out or just chitchat as Llama and Skoal get things started for the tailgate.  I have been known to send brownies to those for whom I have a mailing address.  It might not be in the next few weeks, but . . . I'm excited that WW is back in the big game.  Sounds like Llama has scored us some great tickets.  Can't wait!! :) ;) :D ;D
Brownies for Film Day--Now there's a Slogan I can live with!!!:)  Go EAGLES!

Pat - I like your suggestion. If I had a TIVO, I might even read the instructions so that I might be able to do it. By the way, you should go see Deja VU Sounds like you would be a perfect client.

Olinemom,

Believe you me that if there were any way for me to get away and take in the festivities this weekend, I'd certainly do so.  My wife and I recently took over a motel in northern Wisconsin and I really need to be here this weekend to take care of business.  I feel fortunate enough that I was able to make it back to my hometown of Whitewater to see the Hawks beat the Johnnies a few weeks back.  My allegiance to the Warhawks goes all the way back to the 60's when my father was the Warhawk marching band director and has continued to this very day.   Even though my previous job and current location has prevented me from attending as many events as I would like, I still have a spot in my heart for all UWW sports teams.  Have fun this weekend.  Cheer loudly and help the Hawks BRING IT ALL BACK HOME!! ;)
