At the time the NSIC had only seven football playing members so one WIAC school had to sit.  As I understand it, Whitewater volunteered to sit out entirely since they had the longest trip, and Brez already had non-conference games lined up.

Thanks, I wondered if that didn't have something to do with it.

Oops. You meant WIAC team. If we send a WIAA team, you'd be beating up on one of our high school teams.  ;)

In response to the question about why we don't play D2; I believe someone posted here that state law prohibits campuses from the old Wisconsin State University System (which includes all of the WIAC) from offering athletic scholarships.

How about schools from other conferences Man-up and deal with it like Mt. Union has. Seriously, if we weren't meant to be in D3 we would be perrenial national champs. We haven't reached that level so why should we move up to another division? it's not our fault that your tutition is through the roof so that nobody but whiny little rich kids can get in and pay for it (or kids who scrore 112 on their ACTs and have a 9.8 GPA who can reap all of the athletic academic money). How about the other schools in division three that aren't public stop whining about not being able to recruit players when your standards are that of division one programs. Who should be a division one school now? Probably not WIAC schools, we don't hold our standards to that of UW Madison. Why? because we ARE NOT A DIVISION ONE INSTITUTION. I'm sorry if I'm rambling but I really am sick of whiny little division three schools crying because they got the crap beat out of them  by a better team and use the excuse that our schools are bigger. I didn't even know Whitewater existed (I live an hour away) until it came time to look at colleges as well as schools like Lakeland, St. Norberts etc. I actually live about 15 minutes away from Carhtage and they didn't bother to send me a postcard asking about me.  Every school in division three recruits so why does it matter when you should give us a reason to pay 10-20 grand a year more to come to your schools.

Olinemom,

Thank you again for the brownies, they are absolutely amazing.  It means alot when someone from a different school or location supports you.

I was probably one of the first to come up to you when you were standing by the WW buses.  I wanted to say thanks and reached out to shake your hand, and instead got a hug.  I said that we'd be back.

My post isn't about the game, or just to thank you once again.  I was wondering if the recipe for those brownies is a family secret, or one that can be shared.   ;D

If you wish I would be willing to work out a swap.  I have adapted one of my mom's recipes to create what I believe is a pretty tasty mint brownie.  It has a layer of brownie, a layer of green mint frosting, and a top layer of chocolate frosting.  The middle green layer gives it an attractive presentation to go along with the taste.  If you want to swap send me a PM.  If the recipe is a secret I understand.

Thank you again for the support and the great tasting brownies.

I would be delighted to share whatever recipe you want and I would love to add another recipe to my repertoire.  Is there one of the recipes or do you want all the ones I made?  Let me know.  I will be away a couple of days without computer as my Mom doesn't have a computer, but I will check when I get back to see what you want.  You can e-mail me if you want. It's on the file.  Thanks for your post.  I enjoy making brownies for my players during the season and I have extended that to the Stagg Bowl finalists the last 3 years.  It makes me happy and I hope everybody liked them.  I know that was a difficult  evening.  The whole day was amazing for me.  Stone Station of which I am a part hosted both sets of fans at a tailgate and I met so many parents and fans on both sides.  (I was also privileged to go to Mr. Jacobs' party at the Marriott the night before where I met a lot of WW fans and got to see Tommy Pattison!!  I was thrilled to see that he is doing very well.)  Il was a happening.  I haven't had a chance to check out the photo albums of the game because I have been trying to recuperate from the weekend.  Let me know what you want and I will do my best!!  You know I have been known to send brownies to people when I have their name and mailing address.  Just ask AJ Raebel. :) ;) :D ;D

Hold on there 96er. I believe the question was how you keep your talent in state? No complaining going on. Calm down just a little.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

Now that the big game is over, and most of the UWW fans have returned, Who are the 4 finalists for the Head coach at UWW?

I guess we know one who will not be a candidate, don't we?  That being former Warhawk player & assistant coach and current Green Bay Packer Offensive Coordinator Jeff Jagodzinski.  Sources say he will be named the new Boston College Head Coach on Wednesday. I can't understand why he would want to go back to BC instead of returning to UW-W to coach.  :-\  Maybe we will see more Wisconsin talent being recruited to go east as a result.

Warhawk 96,

Welcome to the board.  If that's the attitude you're going to contribute then you may go away.

warhawk 96- Don't let them bother you. I like someone who speaks out and says what they think. Stick around.
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Does anyone know if there is an audio recording or written transcript of the post game press conference that would be available to the public?  I'd sure like to hear what everyone had to say after the game.

You can't have everything.....Where would you put it?

Congrats on a fine season UWW.  Nothing to hang your head about, you guys left it all out on the field and that's all you can ask.

I may have been a little harsh.  I just prefer when people establish a little credibility in this forum rather than making their first post a raving rant.

Not that money is the deciding factor in all decisions, but the $60 or $70 grand that UWW will offer Jagz is a little less than the 7 figures I'm sure he'll be getting from Boston College.
