CaptainKurt

I smell Sean O'Reilly.  Is he hanging out here again?

I know the Zweifel point is played out, but it's been brought up again due to the radio spot this topic had on Fox Sports Radio here in Milwaukee this morning.  It covered a half-hour from 8:30 to 9:00 am.

When Derrick Levake, who by the way is a UWW alumnus, former Melberger finalist, former WSUC Conference Player of the Year, and former NFL linemen....when Derrick spoke about Coach Z he said that Z is a guy who tells it like it is.  When you're doing something good, he'll praise you.  If your making mistakes, he'll let you know.  Derrick went on to say that having someone like Stan, who tells it like it is, is a very refreshing person to have around you.  I couldn't agree more.

It sounds like Coach Zweifel should be the next chancellor at Stout!!

Nobody from Whitewater is going to the Hula Bowl. Didn't see any Division 3 guys on either team but I could have missed one.......

Glad to see I'm not the only one who sensed a second coming (OK, 3rd or 4th) of SOR.  I got a headache before I could finish reading his last post, so I quit and moved on...

I accept all the blame for answering him.....

Couldn't agree more Captain!!!  People that walk around like they are stepping on eggshells trying to make everyone feel good is not what Z was.  Some people just didn't see eye to eye...thus he wasn't given his chance......unfortunate...sad....ridiculous as it may be, life will go on, but the passion, enthusiasm, and person Coach Z was to UWW football can never be replaced.

I had told myself that i wouldn't reply anymore either on the subject of the UWW coach but it is my boggling to me some of the statements being made here.  First of all......guess what Brez had been telling Leipold for years that he was his choice for the next coach....for that matter Perk had told Leipold the same thing.....Leipold has recruited in this state for the Badgers, the Warhawks, UNO and the Huskers.  I think you would be amazed at the contacts he has out there.  Give the guy a chance.....something he did in those interviews was the right thing and something Z did was the wrong.  Did Leipold brown nose in the interviews...NO guess he even gave the biggest booster answers that he didn't want to hear.  Maybe Z needs to look in the mirror and see what is that caused him not to get the job if he was such a shoe in.  Anyone catch the Janesville Gazette article on what Beaver thought after meeting with the new coach?   I believe he said he did a 180 change in what he felt and that he couldn't wait to get back to work.
If Z is such a wonderful coach and has such a great personality, he should have no problem getting a job then, huh?
Maybe some of you should know some of the things he has been saying and doing...Dinkel too for that matter.  Turning coaches against UWW and players against it will only hurt the program.  To anyone who doesn't want to be on the Warhawk wagon get off because we are going all the way.
You may ask....do I have my facts......darn right I do.

The Whitworth TE was invited to the Hula Bowl but declined in order to play the next week in the East-West Shrine Game.

The coaches' association has no association with the Hula Bowl anymore, so D-III doesn't have any automatic spots in the game.

I wouldn't flag you for excessive celebration in extolling the virtues of your new coach, oldpurple,  but to tell a guy who gave 16 years of his life to your program  "to look in the mirror"  sounds like taunting to me, especially when accompanied with cracks about a "wonderful coach" and  his "great personality."  No doubt  it's a late hit out of bounds, too, to make unsubstantiated claims Z's actions and words are somehow now hurting your program.

I have a few questions. What is Derek Levake doing these days? Did they say anything about him during the Show? Were the resignations of the O and D cordinators accepted?Could they return if asked by the Stout Interm coach? What is the latest on coach Dinkel, did he leave or not, I have seen conflicting info on the site? What about the rest of the Coaching staff at UWW? The appointment of an Intrim head coach is very common. Someone has to run the program. Thank You and God Bless!

oldpppppurple= shut up. you are beating a dead horse. The rest of you WW fans, LL is the new coach. Get on, or get off.

Oh I guess I will shut up.  I was confused that this was a forum where you could post things saying your thoughts and even offering info that is going on but I must have been mistaken.
I will be on the wagon at every game home and away but I guess to offer any more posts is what I can't do.  Who is the coaching staff at UWW?  Oh yes I do know that too but I will as I have been told....shut up.

Pardon me for changing the subject...but
a few pages ago, I think it was BlueDevilBob was bringing up the Anderson Bros, er, correction  Hanson Brothers from the Slap Shot movie.  Well, for an update on Dave Hanson, one of the brothers.

Robert Morris' day: There were two big items in the last week out of Robert Morris, the third-year Division I program in Moon Township, Pa. First, the Colonials beat then-No. 2 Notre Dame 4-2 last Sunday, an upset of Holy Cross-ian proportions.

Four days later, the school announced it's hosting a Hanson Brothers look-alike contest at its Feb. 17 home game against Miami. It has good reason to: Dave Hanson, one of the famed brothers from the movie "Slap Shot," is the general manager of the RMU Island Sports Center, where the Colonials play.

Oldpurple- sorry about the shut up comment. It was out of line and I withdraw it.

I am deeply sadened at how the program has been heading since 2000.  I will hate to see Coach Strop go, but I am also excitd to see where h will end up.  I am excited for Coach Naatz to see what he can make of the situation at Stout.  I am also curious as to the other Stout coaches who have resigned.  BDB, I know you ahve an inside track, who else has resigned?  Well good luck to all of the coaches lives who have ben involved with the Stout football program and good luck going into 2007.
