The WARHAWK community welcomes Lance, stands behind him and wants nothing more than continued success.  End of story.

I've heard that Dinkel is back on staff.

From the outside looking in, I'm surprised the WWW coaching issue is still dominating the WIAC page.  Would have expected the cocaine busts and the coaching change at Stout to be getting a little more attention.  Especially when steriods and football are mentioned too.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

I am real good friends with a parent of one of the senior stout football players, and he said that the seniors are all extremely excited about the coaching move, and are ready to get back to work.  He once again made it clear to me that there were some definite issues with the fball program well before the alleged drug bust.  Lets remember, these kids have not been convicted of anything yet.  Word around campus among players and parents is that Luke Steffen was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time, and was not involved with what was going on.  It simply took place at his home where other ppl were staying.

Oh, look! There's basketball going on! Let's watch that...

OK foul language. That's your second reference on these boards today about the NFL playoffs or hoops games which may have been preventing us from posting!  ;)

I'll throw you a bone. How about that! The Saints try a hail mary pass at the end of the half! Whew. Most coaches would simply be content to take a knee and wuss it out before the half, letting the clock run out...

I say throw it to the end zone, and if it gets picked, it gets picked. You have a better chance of scoring on the play, than the D has in returning it 100 yards for a TD.

In the words of Montgomery Burns...excellent.  Good to see Dinkel is on board.  He's a great coach.

I can't believe the whining at some of the campuses about coaching changes.

When we have turnover, I certainly hope our fans handle it with some maturity and common sense.

chmarx - There will always be whining, as you put it, when change occurs. This is just my dime store psychology, but many people generally don't react well to change or can't accept change, rather, they basically like the status quo.  Just think, most everything in our lives is in perpetual motion or at least very dynamic in nature and nobody ever stops to notice.  Then, a couple insignificant things like coaching changes take place, and so many people get bent out of shape.  I, too, am amazed how this thing continues to have a life of it's own. I hope these same people losing their composure over this get as worked up over the really important issues related to our homes, environmental conditions, crime, etc. etc.  Unfortunately, I doubt it.  (probably don't even vote in an election).  Just a hunch, but I think we haven't heard the last of the coaching woes!!

I guess that would depend on the circumstances.

Not insignificant to the coaches and their families who have to pick up and move to find new employment.

Listen, as chief "whiner" considering the Stout situation I admit I may have gone over the top with a couple posts.

However, knowing all the charachters in this story from administration to coaches to boosters I also believe that a ton of damage was done to a program that many have invested a ton of emotion, time and money to help build.

The damage to percieved benefit ratio to me seems out of whack.

That's hard to accept but accept I will. And I am done whining now.

PS: BoBo, I get cranked up on alot of issues, and vote in every election.  ;)

Everyone needs to drive their Stratus from time to time.  Don't forget that message boards were created for exactly that...to voice your opinion.

J44

I agree that these message boards are for exactly that, "to state your opinion on subjects or add FACTS to the topics being discussed."  I have been a long time follower of the the WIAC message board, and have just recently became involved with a recent topic because of my own personal ties with the matter.  Though most of you may have thought BlueDevil Bob and myself were whining back and forth, however I consider it just two individuals stating their own input on a very conroversial issue.  Thats what these boards are all about, hearing what others have to say and then make your own conclusion at the end.  If you are honest, show class, and love your respective school, nobody is wrong in the end.  I have read several of BDB's posts in the past and have always been very impressed with his honesty, and passion towards UW-Stout athletics.  And thats what its all about!!

Good posts, this is a relief from the real world. As long as we respect each other. I vote in all elections ! Blessings!

Congrats to Jesse Wendt for being selected to play in the Texas vs. the Nation game on February 2nd.  Also Ryan Englebert has signed with what sounds like a very well respected sports agent.  www.prostaronline.com/renglebert.html    Good luck to these fine young men along with Derek Stanley, and any other WIAC player that is trying to play at the next level.

Yes, it would be nice if some of our athletes get their shot.

I agree its great to see D3 guys get a shot and it is difficult even for Arena or Canadian sometimes..... Teams want you to work your way up from Arena 2 for instance combined with the problem that a team like Whitewater has played 30 games in the last two years......some guys are pretty banged up and aren't interested in working their way up. I still believe there are a few guys who each year that could play if they got a legitimate look.....
