Brian Carroll,14-2, you the man.

Great weekend of football.  Congrat's all you pick-up winners! Four of you with the 4-0. WOW. Obviously, I didn't see it that way.  No problem though, all that matter's is the WARHAWKS won and we will see them in another pivotal game next week.

Saw some big hitting on both sides of the ball for Whitewater and a ton of offense.  Really cool to see three Whitewater quarterbacks have success moving the ball and finding the end zone. The receivers got their hands back and put up some sic yards and licks! Defense is showing it has very good depth and very solid play.

I think Eau Claire would get an at large bid if they win the rest of their games.  I also think at least 10 teams should come out of the West region.
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

Fred, I edited you in to the score post. Thanks

Eau Claire!!!  There should be way more talk about that team this year.  How hard is it to lose your first conference game of the year by 21 and then do what they have done this year!  Keep up the good work to all the Eau Claire players!

I went to that game today.  And what can I say I was wrong obviously.  This isn't an excuse but when your Starting QB, Starting HB, and 2 top recievers are not even playing cause of injuries.  Well that just speaks for itself  The fact that the Platteville defense gave up over 700 yards is just sickening.   As for the arrogant comment explain this one to me there up 56-21 theres under 3 minutes left to in the game.  Whitewater could have easily just run out the clock and called it a game but no..  they throw a 48 yard bomb.  Then run it in for a touchdown.

If it's not an excuse why does it "speak for itself?"   ;D

That was our fourth unit you couldn't stop with most of your starting defense.   We may need those kids somewhere down the line in a real game.  They need the game experience too or should they be told not to try.  I didn't see any Platteville players quitting.

I think Ememdorfer made his point with the half back option touchdown pass on the final play against our fourth unit.  We played every single player who was eligible and dressed.

I don't recall a game in which there were so many monster hits.  It was incredibly aggessive.

Mr. Downtown

I know their always a lot of talk about Whitewater's game every week, but I would like to point something out to the general public.

Oshkosh 23
Stevens Point 20

And for the most surprising number out of all this:
Oshkosh 6-1 (3-1)

For the first time in 29 years, Oshkosh has won 6 games in a season. For the first time under coach Meyer, Oshkosh has won 3 conference games.

Now, granted, perhaps they haven't faced the stiffest opponents. Stout seems iffy, but at the time they were ranked 23rd in the nation.

Platteville is hurt, but it was their homecoming in front of an impressive crowd size.

Stevens Point seemed to be on the climb back, but lets face it, this team is really overrated.

And if Raschke is able to find the goal posts, other then kicking through them against River Falls, Oshkosh would still be undefeated.

Nonconference wise, William and Penn isn't bad (4-4), Concordia is always a playoff team, granted from a weak conference (4-3), and Albion is 4-3.

This is the best team start since 1935 folks, and not dissing anything towards Whitewaters "whitewashing" victory over Platteville. But for once this week, perhaps we should pay more attention to the "classic" between Eau Claire and La Crosse, and the rise of the Oshkosh football program..

Oh wait...Oshkosh faces Whitewater this week. Nevermind, we'll be talking about this game all week.

p.s Bulk19, your welcome for the free "advice"  :D

Based on the awesome perfomrance by the WARHAWKS yesterday. I believe it is safe to say that last year's loss to Platteville was a fluke.
As far as WW throwing a bomb near the end of the game. Well this is not high school, where you just run the clock out and play nice.
This is college where when someone is down you kick them again for good measure. Also that was our third sting QB in the game and depending on whether Jacobs can play the rest of the season he will be our number 2,and he needs to practice throwing bombs against good defense's.
Other then that UWP throing a HB option pass at the end of the game look very simular to what I sw on TV in the badger game where Purdue down 31-10 was calling time outs with under a minute to go.
They just had to do that to get 28 points I guess, just like Purdue had to do it to get 20.
Oh well the Badgers are one of the top teams in the Big Ten, which was not expected, and more importantly the WARHAWKS are the best team in the WIAC.
SO GO WARHAWKS BEAT OSHKOSH. A team who has not beaten you sicne 1976. Well there was 2002 but that ended up in a forfeit because Oshkosh pulled a Lou Holtz, and cheated, and got caught.
GO WARHAWKS 2005 WIAC CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS

Plattfan,
I have one question fro you, whats wrong with a college coach allowing his third sting QB throw the ball a little bit yes they were up big, but the kid hasn't played since Lakeland maybe stevens point. It's not like they were aking shots at the endzone.
Are you telling me that UWP has never tried to throw the ball when they are up big with their back ups in the game ?
I hope I am not coming off to arrogant here, but when your as good as my alma mater is right know, you can eb a little cocky., Yes the Pioneers beat whitewater last year 7-6. However that was last year, and this year the exact opposite happen as the Warhawks dominated the Pioneers from Plateville.
Also I do not believe Brezowitz is the type of coach to allow his coaching staff to run the score up on people,as any good warhawk fan will remember how he reacted when Lacrosse supposedly did that to him back in 1994. He chased down coach Harring, after the game.
Oh well thats games over, and it's time to worry about the Warhawks next victim Oshkosh. I just hppe all of the titans DEFENSIVE STARTERS are eligible this year. So if some unthinkable way they did beat whitewater they wouldn't have to forfeit like they did in 2002.
UW WHITEWATER WARHAWKS 2005 WIAC CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS
IN THE WORDS OF JIME ROME "RACK EM"
So it is safe to say he wouldn't run the score up on someone.
I am still however tryign to figure out why Platteville was trying to score with eight seconds left. I mean did they really want to score 28 points that bad.

Plattfan

Yeah it was last year.  Geez so many things have changed since last year its unbelievable.  I for the life of me can't figure out what happened to Platteville.  Losing 6 in a row with only one of those losses being a close game.  I understand the run defense is lets just say "struggling"  but they were that way last year too and they still managed to win 6 games.  So what is so damn different this year as opposed to last year?  Injuries, attitudes whats the problem?  Whitewater should easily beat Oshkosh.  Do the Warhawks even have to win out to be conference champs?

Yes WHITEWATER[/color] has to win out to clinch the championship.  After we beat Oshkosh we still will need someone to help us with one loss EauClaire.

Overlooking any of these last three teams would be a major mistake but this year's team seems incredibly focused.   We're in the driver's seat and all we have to do is take care of our own business.  The rest of league can do as it will.   Who can ask for more?

Bring on the Titan.

Leave it to Beaver

hawkshawkshawks

Does anyone know about the Hawks chances for a #1 seed if they run the table?  I beleive that it would be difficult to give a 10-0 WIAC championship team anthing but a #1 seed.

padmofu

I'm a little disappointed that the 3-3 Eagles are still ranked above my 6-1 Titans. Other than that, I'm pumped about Whitewater reaching #2. Awesome! Hopefully my Titans will give 'em hell this weekend and keep hope alive for at least a share of the title. However... the hawks are having a great year and if they get the auto playoff berth I for one will support them all the way. I hope we can all do the same if they get to play "you know who" in the playoffs. But for now... HAIL TITANS! GO GET 'EM ON SATURDAY

Hawkshawkshawks_ Very unlikely for a #1 seed. Linfield is still the defending national champion until somebody beats them. A Linfield loss in the regular season is unlikely....but anything is possible as shown yesterday in Alliance, Ohio
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

wc2viking

It's possible that UW-Whitewater gets the #1 seed in the "north" bracket, especially with the loss by Mount Union.

This is not the time to start wondering if you are going to be a #1 seed in the West region at season's end.  The only focus right now is on a very good, once beaten Oshkosh team that invades Perkins Stadium on Saturday with 1st place on the line.  Need to "pound the rock" baby!

And to BadgerWarhawk, or Warhawkguy, or whatever he is calling himself at this point of the season - I admit that I lost that wager to you on one-loss teams left in the WIAC.  Vodka and thought patterns sometimes have problems working together on Saturday nights.  The tab is now open!
