UW-Whitewater wide receiver/kick returner Derek Stanley was slowed by a tender hamstring at Wednesday's Pro Day in front of NFL scouts at UW's McClain Center.  He did not register a time in the 40 due to a "rolling start" and the hamstring pull also affected his time in the shuttle run.  Stanley had been timed in the mid 4.3's for the 40 last spring. It won't be Stanley's last chance to show his speed for scouts. He is scheduled to participate in a Pro Day at UW-Whitewater's Kachel Fieldhouse that has been set up for UWW tight end Pete Schmitt.  The Whitewater event was originally planned for yesterday (3/7) but was rescheduled for next Thursday.

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel's Jeff Potrykus writes about Wednesday's NFL Pro Day in today's Journal Sentinel  http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=574856

How did Pete and Derek do on Thursday?

It looks like UW-Stout has announced their schedule.  They have 10 games as well.  Season opening with Menlo @ home and then @ Div. 2 Missouri-Rolla and @ Whitworth.

That's a lot of traveling for the Devils in the early goings of the season.  Good luck to them, except versus Whitewater.  ;D

Anyone know how the Pro day at Stout turned out for Wendt and Englebert?

I learned yesterday that UWP will play ST Ambrose of Davenport on 09/08/07, to fill out the 10 game schedule. the Fighting Bees were 10-1 last year only losing in the NAIA playoffs. God Bless!

Any word on a tenth game for Whitewater and a pre-season scrimmage like they have had in the past few seasons?.......

If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

I'll pile on, Sakman!  +karma for you.  Lots of guestions on here the last few weeks but no answers coming, it seems.  Questions about how the WIAC players did with the scouts and team's  schedules....etc.....  Did all our inside sources dry up?    ;D

Schmitt and Stanley postponed until first week in April is what I heard.....don't know the reason.

J44

Heard that Wendt and Englebert will be running next Tuesday at Whitewater along with Schmidt and Stanley.  Anyone else hear the same?

pastprime

I heard that no scouts showed up at Stout for their pro day.  That will hurt E-bert more than Dubs.  Anyone interested in Dubs has already seen him.  Good luck to them at WW.
I may not have much to say, but I'll say it anyway.

That may have something to do with why small colleges don't do pro days.
