Whitewater doesn't start its spring practice until Wednesday

KitchenSink

It sure is football (rather than baseball) weather outside around here these days.

Where's the dang schedule for UWW?  Since LaC, Osh, Point, Stout, RF and Platt have schedules posted we can see most of it (plus apparent rematches with Lakeland and MHB).  Stuck on that 10th game still?
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

I think Wendt has a shot at getting drafted in the 6th or 7th round.  Talking with the Whitewater guys who watched the pro day they said Wendt stood out from the rest and the scouts were very impressed with his physical attributes.  I recently looked back at the last 5 years of combine and pro day numbers and no receiver has his combination of size 6'3 230, strength 26 reps @ 225, and speed 4.42 in the 40 yard dash.  I think a team will take a chance on him realizing that he hasn't really had any solid coaching in his college career (strop, carey - horrible).  If he can get a good coach to help him with his routes and other mechanical things he can definately play.

If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Oh, get off your high horse.  Southern Oregon (NAIA) was negotiating with UW-WW for weeks waiting for an answer.  Plinske was nervous about SOU blasting Azusa this past fall and ended the talks.

OR.....maybe a trip out there is not in the budget for this year? Horse dismounted.

Yeah - I'm not convinced that a 3-6 team intimidates too many teams - even with 1 blowout win.

Methinks there was a bit more to any story along those lines.

Southern Oregon was not a very good team. One of those wins was over Menlo on a fluke kick return at the end of the game and then SOU eventually had to forfeit due to ineligible players. Azusa Pacific was worse. It wouldn't even be close against UW-WW.

Get off it yourself.  How the hell do you know what Plinske was thinking?

You people are crazy Went has zero chance of getting drafted. D-Stan is the only one out of the group who has any type of shot.  He's the only one who was an elite player on the d3 level, plus he's much faster than the time he posted.  Very impresive times by Went and Englebert, however neither was that good of a player and those going from d3 to the NFL generally dominate d3 level and neither came even close to that.

DIII Fanatic

I usually keep quiet on these things, but I felt obligated to reply to this post.  I don't think the negativity helps out this situation at all clownshow.  We should all be behind these guys in continuing their football careers.  Maybe their chances are slim, but let's keep rooting for the to make the WIAC proud.  I talked to people who actually attended the pro day and they said everyone looked very impressive catching the ball and even a few of the guys stood out in the agility drills.  With that being said, good luck to Stanley, Schmitt, Wendt and Engelbert.  Prove all your critics wrong and show them that you can play with the elite.

I hope clownshow isn't who I think it is, b/c the spelling and negativity seems eerily familiar to a past poster.....and if it is him, he knows very little about the situation

I agree Stanley had the best season, however to say that Wendt and Englebert weren't good players is not true.  I agree that Stanley and Scmidt are both freaks and excellent D3 football players, however they were both helped greatly by a terrific qb, the best 0-line in D3 and a defense that got them the ball back 3 and out pretty consistently.  You give Wendt and Englebert that kind of supporting cast and they would have putten up much much better numbers.  Wendt had a down year statistically and did drop a few too many passes when given the opportunity this year, but Englebert put up 1,000 yards with a bad offensive line, no qb, and a below average defense.  A lot of those yards were after contact and really had to do most of it on his own.  Lets remember he was ahead of Anthony Davis on the Badgers RB depth chart his freshman year at Wisconsin before two FB's blew out their knees in consecutive days thus forcing Englebert to be moved to Fullback.  The kid is a pretty special player.
