Pat,
I am not sure but was your question a loaded one?  Garcon did want to play for a winning program by his own admission. He had seen MUC in the Stagg Bowl (REALLY?) There is a good article in the "Features" section by Mark Simon from Sept 28, 2005. He was invited to Norwich at a recruiting fair in Fla. He was AC in the Empire 8 as a freshman. I thought I had heard there was a coaching change at Norwich which also played into his decision but that is not confirmed. He was part of an early collection of Fla kids comming to Mount. The article said there were 8 kids from Fla on the roster in '05 but he was the most proficient. Why would kids in Fla want to play football in OHIO...hmmmmmm??

Having assigned and edited the story I am familiar with it, definitely.

My point was that this kind of transfer has happened before. I cited a very prominent example.

Badgerwarhawk,

Can you say Greg Micheli? '06 Stagg Bowl MVP.

Goo
Can you say KMIC?

Yes, I can say that but it makes me choke and brings tears to my eyes. ;)

I get pretty much the same reaction when I say Kmic too.  :D

Oh, come on, ROR,  share the story with all of us on the WIAC board.  I have heard it before but don't remember the particulars.  (Because I am old.)  Something about a program "accidently," leaving the sprinklers on so the field got soggy and, let's just say, slowed down the tempo of the game.  Probably just an urban legend.   ;)

LOL!  Always the safest path!  Maybe if we are quiet, they will just go back to sleep.  Sorry, I couldn't resist.  8)

I have been following the transfer of Danny Jones to Whitewater story line and was thinking how great it would be for the backup Quarterbacks at Whitewater that have been busting butt for the past couple of years.  He hasn't step foot on campus and already is the starter.  I'm not sure if I would want to play for a coach who would disregard the hard work and commitment that has been put in by the current players on the roster.

I completely agree with you on this one. It does not send a good message to those kids that have put in three years of hard work. However, Danny Jones is a hell of a quarterback. If the rumor is true, Whitewater is getting a great one.

I also think you make an excellent point but the only ones that have declared Jones the starter has been on Post Patterns.  I would hope that what was a two-way race has now become a three-way.  It should be earned by the best QB after a fair competition has been waged.  Transfers coming in and taking spots that others have waited their turn for happens all the time and has happened at UWW before.  (Widuch, Borzick, Boelhke, to name just a few.)  This is college football after all and that is the nature of the beast. But I agree with you, it sucks, especially when a senior is involved.

I doubt Danny Jones would transfer and give up his degree/career at Cal Lu if he didn't have some form of assurances. If Whitewater does have a better qb, then he is a damn good one.

In the WIAC there's a rule where if you play for 2 years on a team and transfer within the conference you have to sit out a year.  There should be a rule in all of DIII that if you are at a school for 2 years or more you have to sit out a year before you are eligible.  I think its dumb that kids can transfer without having to sit out.

Well, if he is that good, he won't have any trouble winning the job outright, would he.  ;)

I tell you what bobhawk I will roll with my UWW boys any day.  Beaver is ten times the RB Englebert is.  You can have englebert Ill take the 2 time first team all american and gagliardi finalist any day and every day.  Have fun trying to stop Beaver next year.  Actually teams should just try to contain him first.

Congrats to all the D3 guys that made teams it does alot for the D3 football.

Goo 62, do you have the hots for Beaver or something???  I was just curious because you brag him up so much.  Let's see how many NFL teams have interest in him when he is done playing college ball.  I'm guessing he'll get as much interest as you did:)  ZERO!

I was wondering the same thing 'thewayitis".  I think Goo 62 has the hots for beaver.
