I retract all my previous posts. Let's all vote for the Linfield guy. In fact, let's vote for a d3 guy every year! And if we all really try hard, a d3 guy will win, or place high all the time, and we will have effectivly ruined the once highly thought of Heisman Award! After we accomplish that, maybe we can figure a way to get highschool players nominated for the Gag award.

That would be silly.

The Heisman is for the best player in college football, not the best Division I-A offensive player from a BCS conference. The mission of the award does not specifically exclude Division III players.

The Gagliardi Trophy's mission specifically includes only Division III football players.

Ok, then I guess I think it's ok to vote for BE if you think he is the best player in college football. It's funny you mention "the mission of the award".

My picks for the week:

LaCrosse over Stout
Whitewater over Oshkosh
Platteville over River Falls
Stevens Point over Eau Claire

Eagle Cynic

Anybody got some insight on why the Eagles can't put it together with the cattle they breed there?

The team attitude changed from we suck, have no fans, had a losing season in 1999 to...we're pretty good, but can we beat anybody else who's good (Mount Union) and can we take over the town like in the olden days. Last season, we improved individually as talent is concerned but as a team it seemed like we might have thought we were too good to play every game with 100%.

Is that happening this year?  It seems like we have another premium batch of players...a pretty experienced line, quality RB's, STUD Wideouts ( the best group of 3 in the nation) 2 QB's who should be starters on any team.  Solid DB's led by the future record breaker for career INT's in Teeples, and a stable full of LB's and D-Line that are excellent individual talents.

Who thinks they are better than the team?  Who thinks they are doing a good job and is not being told otherwise?  Is it injuries?  All these things are poison to any team.

Sorry for the rant, I just want to know why my Eagles can't run the show with the amount of talent they have.

Wasn't it in 2001 that La Crosse had a losing season not 1999!

Even though I haven't been doing the picks. Here is the way I see things unfolding.

La Crosse over Stout: In a close one. Last second field goal.
Whitewater over Oshkosh: By at least 10.
River Falls fights off Platteville in a high scoring affair.
Eau Claire stays in contention for conference championship with a convincing win over Point.   ;D

Someone correct me if I am wrong. However the only way Eau Claire or anyone else who has played Whitewater could get a share of thye title, is if Whitewater were to lose, one of the next three games.
I am sorry but I do not see that happening. Whitewater is playing the best they ahve since probably 1997 the last time they won a title outright.
The have been knockin on the door for three years, and haven't been able to knock the door down. However this year. They are the ones hosting the party, and there not going to let anyone knock the door down
The Warhawks are going all the way to the WIAC title by themsleves this year.
GO WARHAWKS

WORLD'S OLDEST FALCON FAN.

MESSAGE TO RECRUITS:  IN DOUBT? ENROLL AT STOUT. DON'T CARE? GO TO EAU CLAIRE. AT A LOSS? TRY LACROSSE. FEELIN' OUTTA JOINT? YOUR PLACE IS POINT. DON'T LIKE THE REST? DO WHAT'S BEST!

GOT BALLS? PLAY FOR THE FALLS!

Picks summary so far:
Whitewater (18) vs. Oshkosh (3)
UWL (14) vs. Stout (7)
UWRF (12) vs. Platteville (9)
UWSP (11) vs. UWEC (10)

My picks
Oshkosh stays around for three quarters, but Whitewater comes away with a W...
UWL is fighting mad and takes it out on Stout.
River Falls over Platteville.
And in exorcising demons, the Blugolds, who have not won at Goerke Field since 1987, lay a big time hurt on the Pointers. Don't lay an egg guys! Go 'Golds!

They need to win today against Stout, that will help!
