Quit complaining, you get free water in WHITEWATER;)

Personally I think they should let Stan coach from your press box.  :D

That's true about the water, and I would love to see Stan coach from our press box or on our nice new field turf next year.

How is the field turf project at Stout going to be financed?  I heard the state assembly axed such projects for the next biennium.

kestrel, I believe replacement of the turf every 7 years over some period of time was part of the original deal with the turf company.

Story in today's Eau Claire Leader-Telegram about two former Stout players holding out hope for chances in the NFL:

RB Ryan Englebert was in Cincinnati's camp, vying for the fifth running back spot; he's been told to stay in shape, in case someone gets hurt. He plans on coaching at Stout this season, but is mulling an offer to play for the Toronto Argonauts in the Canadian Football League, and has been contacted by Arena Football League teams, too...

Jesse Wendt has attended camps for Washington and New Orleans, but his mom is quoted in the story as saying he has had problems with representation and agents; teams were getting wrong information, or none at all, about his status...

Sakman 1111--I plan on being there for the Falcon game in WW, but I'm considerably less excited after the news that Z will not be on our staff. What really disappoints me is that the money he was to get at RF (I heard something like 46 thousand) is so paltry an amount. And that a high school can pay him in the 80 thousand area is a shocker also. What's wrong with this picture?

The Falcons still have the best recruiting class ever, on paper, according to John O., so they'll be okay in a year or two. They may have to depend on a freshman qb this fall, however.

stout guy--It's hard to be a big shot at 5'6" and 147 lbs., but I'll try. And of course, we don't serve hotdogs to anybody except local staff. We're on a budged, unlike the folks at Stout Tech. Rick Bowen tells me not to even deliver them to the local radio guys. And I've never noticed that you failed to drink beer when you are trying. However, I've seen you try to  play  golf, so maybe I better re-think my statement.

Razor R--you raise some good points. Z may have given Saturday absences as a condition of his signing a contract. I heard they went back to him three times b4 he agreed, each time raising the salary ante.

Fred,
I didn't know that they went back to him three times. I am just wonderign ho the coaches at Beloit Memorial will feel if something happesn, and parents are upset and Stan was not at the game as the AD because he was at River Falls.
I know I would not have much confidence in my AD if he gets a call from jane doe because she is upset her son joey got benched on saturday and the AD wasn't even there to see why. Can't get the whole story when you weren't there to see what happen.
Gotta beat the best to be the best otherwise your just one of the rest

Mr. O'Reilly, high schools play on fridays in Wisconsin and in some rare cases they have special saturday games. I don't think that the players and parents need to worry about that one. Also, if Joey gets benched who cares? She needs to talk to the coach to find out exactly why Joey's not good enough to be in the game. If someone got benched at UWW would you go to Plinske asking why? No, why? because he has no say in who plays and why.

AD's have zero involvement with the actual teams, (as far as my experiences) more scheduling and discipline ect., and are not needed at evens.(although the majority go to most)

May be different across the country but at my HS the AD or Assitant AD was supposed to attend any home events.  Not just Football either.

Yes, I believe that AD's are supposed to make an appearance at every home event but I'm not sure on how long they have to be there ;) I do know that most high school sporting events especially in the fall do not have events on the weekends. Either way it goes, the AD still has no authority on the make-up of teams and depth charts.

I don't really know what's expected or required but I know that none of the Whitewater High School athletic directors that I have known (3) have attended every home contest for every sport.   I don't see any reason that an AD would be expected to have attended to understand why Joey isn't playing.  Those decisions are delegated to the coaching staff and prior to meeting with little Joey's parents he would consult with the coaching staff to get a handle on their point of view.

What happens if little Joey's parent is upset that Joey didn't play in an away game.  If the AD's attendance is so important in dealing with that what's he suppose to do?   Or is he only suppose to know what happens at home and it's acceptable to be clueless about the other half of a schedule?

It's just a hunch mind you but I've got a feeling Stan and the BMHS people have discussed this and reached a mutually agreeable resolution.

Don't mind me.  I just wanted to see what would happen when I hit 1000 posts.  No whistles, no bells, no lights but maybe another star. :D
