Kurt Warner, recently graduated UWL basketball player, has been signed by the Packers as a tight end and is in training camp this week.  Apparently injuries had depleted the Packers' TE corps.

Badgerwarhawk,
Congratulations on 1000!
Are you planning to head up north in Sept for the WW VS St Cloud State game? As mentioned earlier come up Friday and head to Collegeville for the St Johns tailgate and game at 1PM and then have a few beverages before heading over to St Cloud for game two. It is a very short drive.
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

That would be Joe Werner.  ;)  The PACKERS cut Kurt Warner.

Sorry Raiderguy but I won't be able to make the trip.  I'll have to settle for listening to the resurrected VOICE of WARHAWK FOOTBALL on the radio.

There are quite a few schools who play high school football on saturdays in the fall. Just gotta check the schedules.
I am nto sure where all of you are from but down in the rich subburbs of Milwaukee if the parents aren't happy they go to the AD's and not the coaches. or worse yet their friends on the school board to get the coaches on the hot seat. It mgiht not happen other places but in the Milwaukee and Waukesha area I have seen a lot of good high school coaches get fired because bobby's mom doesn't like the fact that Bobby is getting yelled at and then thins coach T is a horrible coach.
Like I said it might not happen in places like Whitewater or Racine or Kenosha but it happens alot up in Milwaukee and Waukesha.
But then again even some colleges in Wisconsin let the big time money giving boosters pick the new head coach. Because if they didn't Stan would still be at U DUB-DUB.
Gotta beat the best to be the best otherwise your just one of the rest

Yes, Pat, the VOICE is back.   He'll be the color guy.   I, for one, am very pleased by this developement.

I second that....it will be great to have someone on the broadcast who really knows the players. Good to have Tommy P. involved.....

Nothing like being undefeated.

So what's up with that, BDB?  Has his running of the off-season program given great insight or does he say yes awfully well?

Thanks, Voice and Badgerwarhawk for catching and correcting my embarrassing goof.

I may have missed it if this award was mentioned on here earlier, but UWSP's website has posted a quote from Coach John Miech, recipient of the Johnny Vaught Head Coach Award, about his recent recognition.

Whitewater's Bob Berezowitz was also honored by the All-American Football Foundation on Monday, as well as Bo Schembechler of Michigan, Ron Zook of Illinois, and Denver Johnson of Illinois State.

bulk19,
In addition to Miech and Berezowitz honored as recipients of the Johnny Vaught Head Coach Award, WIAC commissioner Gary Karner was honored as the All-American Football Foundation's Asa S. Bushnell Outstanding Commissioner Award.
