Nice write-up on the d3football.com front page, but they seemed to forget Clint Kriewaldt played at UW-Stevens Point.

Not at all. Did you read what we wrote?

"Among other Division III alumni trying to establish themselves in the NFL..."

We didn't mention Kriewaldt, Matt Turk, London Fletcher, etc., in order to focus on the younger guys who haven't established themselves in the league yet.

Beckham's task is to reestablish himself after missing all of the 2006 season to injury.   He was playing pretty often prior to that though another injury in 2004 caused him to miss most of that season as well.  I hope he can stay healthy because he appears to have the tools to be an NFL level corner.

Yeah -- I felt his circumstances, being out of the league for so long, warranted his inclusion.

Super job all around by Stanley.  This is a nice article, Dallas.  The Rams head coach and I'm sure his position coach from some of the things I've read elsewhere, seem to think highly of him.  I've never been around Stanley, but he sounds like a real humble kind of guy, but with a killer instinct when it matters most.  Let's hope he can remain healthy and continue to turn heads with his (high) level of play.
All of the articles on Stanley have been positive but he sure does have some tough competition at each position - WR and Punt & Kick Return.  I sure hope he does make it.  Sounds like Marques Hagan is a pretty versatile athlete.  He has played multiple positions through out his career.

Oh my, as usual, you are right Mr. Coleman!  I guess my reading was a bit too selective.  I'll try to be more careful next time.  But, afterall, it was 6 am when I read it.    :-[ Thanks!

Does anybody know which WIAC teams started camp this week?  I was under the assumption that everybody started this week.  I was talking to a Dad who has a son going to Platteville and he said they don't start until this weekend.

I can't speak for the other teams but UWP is starting on the 18th because the first week of the season is a bye week for them.  Their season opener is not until the 8th of Sept.

Thanks coachnme - I am assuming that the rest of the WIAC started this week since they all have games the first week.

Any predictions on the first week games.  Besides Oshkosh @ Ripon and Whitewater @ Lakeland which will probably over in the first half what about the following games:
Eau Claire @ Southwest State
Menlo @ Stout
LaCrosse @ Hardin-Simmons
River Falls @ Hope
Point @ Webber International

It was great seeing him so often on television this past season and the announcers never failed to mention UW-RF at one point or another during the broadcast.  Good luck to him.  I hope he ends the season an All American and moves on to the NFL.

But, I have to admit, the best part of all of this is not having to watch him run with the ball against the WARHAWKS any longer.   I've done it already and that was a long afternoon.

For what it's worth....
Oshkosh over Ripon
WHITEWATER over Lakeland
Southwest State over EC
Stout over Menlo
Hardin-Simmons over LaCrosse
Hope over River Falls
Point over Webber International

Warhawk 96

UWW over Lakeland
Oshkosh over Ripon
UWEC over Southwest State
Stout over Menlo (toss-up)
UWLAX over Hardin Simmons
River Falls over Hope
Point over Weber International

yes, I might seem a little biased but I seriously did sit down and think about each matchup
