1 last thing for the last time..a sparse 2300 in attendance at ww?  I heard they always had such get fan support.  after all they are no.2 in d3 , 8-0, badgers are on the road, and it's a beautiful 65 degree day.  where the hell was everybody at???

Come on warhawkalum let here this excuse...

I agree with everything WIACPOWER  just said. He saved me from having to type it.

What's with only 2300 at a top D3 game. SJU had 9800 today. You guys have one of if not the best conference top to bottom and the teams play excellent football. Also there are only a few D2 schools to compete against in Wisconsin. Is it the students or local population -- it does not make sense to me??

Plattfan

River Falls gained 350 yards rushing.  They had 0 yards passing so you knew they were going to run it every down.  And yet they weren't stopped at all!!!!!!  So Platteville loses a close one 28-21.  I just don't know what to say Platteville hasn't won one conference game this season.  Its just unbelivable.

Did Parkside start a football team and not tell anyone?

I to was very disappointed in the crowd at Perkins Stadium today.  Not so much at the adult fan turnout, but the student turnout sucked!   Sounds like the majority of students head to Madison for the annual halloween weekend drunken fest.  I wished they would of stayed around WW to watch the game. It's going to cost a Bleacher Creature the chance at a semester's free tuition. I guess losing a couple of hours of halloween hijinx in Madison is worth the chance at a $2,600 (approximate) voucher.  As far as the adult turnout is concerned.  Several towns in in close proximaty to Whitewater, including the Whippets were playing level-two high school football playoff games. When you have Whitewater, Milton, Palmyra-Eagle, Mukwonago, Burlington and Evansville
all played directly opposite the Warhawks today.  A large percentage of our crowd base comes from those communities.  It really sucks for most WIAC teams this time of the year.  Attendance at Stevens Point-Eau Claire (rivalry game) today was 1135.  The LAX at Stout (rivalry game) drew just 2253.  I wonder how many fans would have been at Titan Stadium this afternoon?

The Warhawk fans at the game did see the Hawks put another solid display. Oshkosh is a very good team. It took Whitewater two straight years of losing to La Crosse in showdown games at the end of the season. The Titans experience today will only help them down the road.

Great job Hawks, one game at a time - don't look ahead!

WIACPOWER,
I am sorry but I have no excuse for the poor showing at the Perk today. Maybe it was halloween and all the students went to Madtown to party. I hope they have freiends who live off campus. Because from what I heard on the news UW Madison was not going to allow overnight guests in the dorms
I personally was not at the Whitewater game as we had a playoff game at four o'clock which we won 35-12,and we play Wisconsin Lutheran next Saturday at home at either four or seven o'clock in round three of the WIAA  playoffs. Seeing that I am coaching at my high school alma mater, which hasn't won a playoff game in 24 years. I think thats a pretty good reason not to be at the Warhawks game.
However I did hear from soem titan fans that if Meyer wasn;'t coaching them they might have won. i told them to keep dreaming and start drinking because Whitewater has not lsot to the Titans since 1976,and it will be a cold day in whitewater before they do.

warhawkalum,

i will give you that you had some area teams playing in level 2 high school games...but your telling me your ww students couldn't wait til after the game take a short little drive to madison then get loaded?  what would that crowd be like if you had a losing team?

also your post said Ohs hadn't beat ww since 1976.   you have some how blocked out that 2002 game.  WW LOST!

does no response about beaver running the ball with 3 minutes to go and  "piling up the numbers" and brez and his team "lack class" mean you agree with me?

waiting for your reply....

WIAC Power - get over it about Beaver.  Your coach had absolutely no problem with it.   If Whitewater's coach wanted to, as you say, "pad the stats," Beaver would have rushed for 300 yards in some games earlier in the season. Instead, he, along with a number of his offensive mates, were already out of the game at halftime.  Whitewater has had the field filled with 3rd and 4th string players enter the game midway through the second half in 5 of its 8 games this season. And had Andy Lange been in the game instead of Beaver on the final drive of the game, he probably would have scored a touchdown.  Check out HIS stats and how he has done in the second half of games this season surrounded by 3rd and 4th string players!

Plattfan--You may be able to take solace in the fact that the Pioneers did not quit. Down 28-7 in the third quarter, they made me and other Falcon fans squirm with their strong running, yes I said running, game. They ran out of time when they got intercepted w/few seconds left on the clock. Their 3-4 turnovers compared w/Falcons zero t.o. game were costly. Otherwise I'm not sure they would not have forced overtime.

Tru--I think private schools have a more loyal, dedicated fan base in general than public schools do. That's not based on wide observation, but surely St. John's long tradition of winning has produced many more fans than any team in the WIAC can lay claim to. RF had a thousand plus yesterday at homecoming and were proud of it. D3 football just does not compete well w/televised, big name schools/games, or at least not in RF. At the local quarterback club mtgs., supposedly an organization dedicated to supporting both RFHS and UW-RF, fewer than 5 of 30 average attendees are Falcon football fans. It used to be better "in the good old days," but not for the past several years. In fact, the club itself is struggling.

okay what ever you say, but the beav did have 3 straight carries in the ww last drive with no other ww running back in sight...what if he got hurt??  real smart!

Tru--here's another indication of general interest in private school football as compared w/ that of public school: the MIAC posting board is on page 382; this board is on p. 58. That means that roughly 7 times more posts have been registered about your league than about the WIAC.

WW hasn't enjoyed 4000 average attendance because the students just decided to start going to the games. Hard work by people like Voice has "brought" them. Getting sponsors for promotions and making the games fun to go to in general is the reason. The same thing could and would happen at the other WIAC schools if they could find people willing to work as hard at it as Voice has. Unfortunately, a big party in Madison trumps a fun day at the football game.

WIAC POWER,
First opf all if you remember in the fall of 2003. It was made official by the WIAC conference as well as the NCAA that UW Oshkosh had to forfeit ALL of it's WIAC victories which occured in 2002. Why ebcause they used an ineligible player. Which means that Whitewater beat them.
As far as Beaver being in the game with three minutes to go. Hey I am not sure why he was. However he was,and if Phil meyer had a problem with it I am sure he would have said something. Brez is still a class act.
Enough said about that topic.

Well EC continues its winning ways and everyone is entitled to their own opinions about who they pick but I was really surprised to see so many people picking point to beat ec.  Also I don't think UWO is as good as their record they finally have to play the top of the conference and got bounced pretty hard by WW but I suppose who hasn't this year.
