Thank you Padmofu for managing this years pick-up.

I understand Dereck Stanley ran into some red tape in Madison, most likely wouldn't see the field till the fall of '06 at the earliest.  He showed up to watch the Warhawks intersquad August 21st and began practicing the 22nd!

Looked great in the intersquad last Sunday, as well as the rest of the receivers.

Wk 1:

St John's
South Dakota
Oshkosh
Platteville
Harden-Simmons
Stout
Whitewater, in a very close one.

Blugold45 (or any other blugold fan),  could you tell me how to get to Carson Park?  I'll be coming in on 94 from the Minneapolis area.

Thanks

Oshkosh @ William Penn (IA)...................Slop-Kosh

Dubuque (IA) @ Platteville........................P-ville

WIACManiac

I guess I'll submit some pick for myself.

Oshkosh the new logo will help in their win
P-vegas, first home game (night game) with the new turf, it will feel like a high school game, perfect enviroment for the pioneers
St. Johns, in a close game if not overtime
SDSU, by 2 touchdowns
UWW will start off with a victory
Stout will pull through in beating an Iowa Conference team
Point be given a loss to start the seasons

I'm taking it that only the conference games will count.

Duffman,

Ok get off on exit 65 (Hwy 37), and take a right going North.

Take that all the way til you get to Clairemont Ave also known as Hwy12 and take a left

You'll go over a bridge and then take a right on Menomonie St.

You'll see a Dairy Queen and you will see the sign for Carson Park, take a left into there

Then enjoy watching the Blugolds lay one on the Johnnies!

DuffMan

Thanks, I'll follow your directions until the last step. ;D

these games don't count towards the regular season do they?

In the past we've picked them for fun and the real contest was the conference season.   But whatever is decided is cool with me.

Neuville

I heard that former UW Stout WR Matt Sprester is going to be at the Stout game this weekend.  I guess he's going to be signing autographs before the game.

UWL is probably biting off more than it can chew at SDSU. I predict a 34-20 loss. I hope I am wrong.

Those of you picking LAX to beat SDSU are wrong.  SDSU is not like USD, SDSU is D1AA and not a crappy one like Valporasio, they are more like NDSU and they will thoroughly demolish LAX.  For example they beat NDSU 24-21 last year and that is the same NDSU team that beat D1 Montana at Montana's home stadium.  This game won't even be close, to many scholarships on SDSU's side.  If LAX wins it is a HUGE win for the WIAC but don't count on it.

Well I was looking a Plattevilles football page and came across their 2-deep line up for Saturday's contest. Its a young team only a couple seniors starting, a couple freshman starting and a whole new crew at the o-line. It might be hard for them to match last year, a winning season that is. But we all know the WIAC, anything is possible. They might surprise a team or two in October and November.

Wow I can't wait until Saturday.

Football season will finally be underway.

LaCrosse lost to South Dakota by a single point last year and beat them by four points the year before that.  I admit I don't know anything about South Dakota, and obviously this is a different season,  but it appears the two programs have been pretty competitive in past meetings despite all the scholarships in South Dakota.
