Wow, WW/LX game must have been something.  Wish I could have seen it.  Not to stir the pot here, but you WW guys who were not sure about this new coaching hire this year must not have checked his ability to coach in the 4th quarter.  That win, I would think, certainly adds to his coaching credibility.  But then, I suppose one could wonder how that young Mike Zwifel (he caught 11 more yesterday) might fit in with your bunch now and down the road.

That's BLATANT pot stirring!
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Does anyone have the story on the Eau Claire/Oshkosh game?  21-20.  Sounds like a thriller.  Mr. DT?  You there?

The Warhawk athletics website says shin injury. The initial treatment at the game was stretching on the sideline but then he was later walking around with ice to the lower part of the leg. It was unclear exactly what the injury was. Hopefully not too bad.

First of all thanks for stiring the pot about UWW.  Second of all I feel real sorry for the Zwiefel kid when he plays UWW.  They have is number marked and it will be an interesting day for the UWW team.  All the players are ready to get Stan past them and this should be the end of it unless he continues to send annoymus letters to the athletic staff or continues to come around like UWW owes him something.  This new staff has outproved themselves as far as teaching the kids the best character on the field.  Good luck to you Stan as you find you way in life, oh, and as your career in coaching is over so go be the AD at Beloit and become just a spectator not a pot stirrer!!!  There is a reason they went with the right man.

Congrats again to the Warhawks and their coaching staff on the great 4th quarter comeback!  The first 3 quarters, the Eagles owned the Hawks but great teams don't give up and find ways to win.  I just got to say, DEFENSE..DEFENSE....DEFENSE!!!  The Hawks D forced 4 turnovers in the Eagles last 5 possession giving the offense short fields and the multiple opportunities to put the points on the board and Jones & Co. came through BIG.  It was amazing.  I predict this game will be a turning point for this team.  They are a real unit now trusting and working together on both sides of the ball. Danny Jones has experienced his first, (and I hope last,)  UWW/UWLC game.  He is a true WARHAWK now!   ;)

I'm kind of hoping we don't have to play them again too, 413.   Things could turn out differently.  I mean there is that law of averages thingy.  :D

Being from WHITEWATER is great to see Michael Z doing so well.  Hopefully we'll be able to slow him down some but after that best of luck.  He's a good kid who's worked hard for the success he's enjoying.

The new Week 5 D3football Top 25 is out, WW and LC remain 3rd and 6th in the poll.  However,  comparing the week 4 poll, WW wins their game at #6 LC, but loses 6 votes, LC loses their game vs WW, and loses 50 points, SJU wins their game vs Carleton, but loses 3 points, Central goes from #8 to #7 gaining 42 for a routine win vs BV, #2 MHB get another easy win and gains 13 votes. And oh, my favorite for the second week in a row, Wheaton goes from #7 to #5 winning against a nobody (again) easily, but gaining 37 votes. Wheaton has a lot of love out there. We'll see when it's all said and done if I will have to eat crow.

So I ask, what is wrong with this picture? I guess beating an inferior foe into submission is more valuable in the eyes of the voters than just winning, baby!!

Who are the 25 voters, Pat?  I'm curious.  Are their names published somewhere or are they anonymous by design?

I guess next week I won't have to do this, since the poll should be relatively unchanged since every team in the top 25 has an open date, right  ;)?

I know this poll is for information, only, so believe me, I'm not really getting worked up over it...it just doesn't always pass the common sense test to me.

I agree with the postings of the top 25 some of them are even 2-2 and are ahead of teams that are 3-1?  That makes no sense to me when a loss is a loss and a win is a win I don't care who you play there are no points for moral victory are there?

Not every loss is a loss, no. If that's what you think then you're probably looking for the standings page. :)

Bobo: I guess I don't know what you want. With SJF losing, who is going to jump up, the No. 6 team that lost at home? That would make even less common sense.

When teams lose, someone has to gain votes.
