Hey Everyone,

Does anyone think that UW-RF has a chance this weekend?  Well I hope the players from UW-WW are over confident :o.  If you look at the games UW-RF played in, they have played tough opponents and been in every game.  So hopefully tomorrow is a shocker, and the UW-RF bus driver has to deal with a loud football team on the ride home!  Don't count them out ;D

Interesting reading all...but, is there any other team in this conf. besides Whitewater?   I know, the point was made that the winners get the recognition, but if all we ever talk about is WW and LaX...makes for a boring read for WIAC fans.

Well, I believe the onus is on the fans of other teams to come to the board and discuss. Spread the word. Welcome to yourself!

Rassler's going to have trouble, since he just changed his address to something fake. That may seem like a clever way to avoid the Terms of Service but the software is smarter than that.

3 Point Play

just three plays after UW-Whitewater linebacker AJ Raebel's vicious but legal sideline hit on starting quarterback Griffen Moe with 2:14 left...

Vicious, but not legal. Should have been flagged.

The Stevens Point vs. Platteville has two streaks going on in it.  The Pointers are looking to extend their 8 game winning streak and the other streak is a 16 game win streak over platteville.  With it being Plattevilles homecoming, they would probably love to snap that 16 game losing streak against the Pointers.  But I dont see it happening.

I can see River Falls staying close to Whitewater for a half but then Whitewater will probably take over.

La Crosse will destroy Eau Claire.

And for Oshkosh and Stout.  I dont know.  After Stouts big win against Platteville last week and Oshkosh losing to Eau Claire.  I dont know.

3 Point Play:

I saw the play when the game was on Tuesday night.  I could see why you thought it was illegal.  It did look like he kind of launched himself, leading with his head into Moes head.  But in a close game and how fast the play happens they arent going to call that.  They will only call that if its when the QB is throwing the ball or if a defenseless WR gets blindsided helmet to helmet.

The WW fans aren't forcing anyone else away.  In fact, I'd wager at times it gets a little boring for them too and they'd like to debate something other than Whitewater as well.

I'm an SP fan, but I'm always hampered by the fact that I live so far away, I almost never get to see them in person.  There were a few more SP fans here a few years ago (during the Krause era) but they've kind of disappeared.

I'd love to see more representatives from other schools too.  Just think, then when your team breaks through no one can accuse you of being a bandwagon jumper.  :D

I think RF is going to surprise WW giving them their first L on the season in conf. play.  Too many good teams in the WIAC and WW is coming off an emotional high...as mentioned, over and over and ...

I think another great game this week will be UWSP in Platteville.  UWP has had some tough luck in recent games, whereas UWSP has had some great luck.  I know luck is determined as much by effort as any mystical force.

I am curious how UWP can stay with Schmitt when he is hurting the offense so much each week.  Look for a true freshman to come in soon...and hopefully...before UWP is out of contention.

I think the UWEC vs UWL game will be huge.  Does LX respond well?  We'll see.  EC has a huge turnover margin and that was a weak spot for LX last week.

Stout vs Oshkosh @ UWO...got to say UWO is going to dominate...just a feeling I have.  I was not impressed with Stout last week vs platteville.  Special teams and defense not withstanding, UWS just doesn't have any offense.  The only TD the offense scored last week was late after UWP went for a 4th and long deep in UWP territory.

I asked UWSP fans what they thought about their new running back....no one responded so we just continued the warhawk chat line.

My buddy who does get to see the Pointers, said Mike Ferron is the best running back they've had since he's been a fan (about 8 years).  That's a pretty nice compliment considering they've had a couple of nice backs in the last decade.

Football is a contact and dangerous sport!  Players will get hurt and helmets will hit helmets.  Do you really think that AJ wanted to hurt that kid?  Bad question, he probably did but not in a personal way.  When players have to worry about the way they tackle someone or let up so they don't get a flag, that is when people get hurt.  I understand the head hunting like Chuck Cecil is illegal, but that hit was far from that.

the 2007 NCAA rules and interpretations, it reads, "No player shall use his helmet (including the face mask) to butt or ram an opponent in an attempt to punish him (A.R. 9-1-2-XVI).'' That leads us to this rendering, "A player, during a live ball, rams an opponent with his helmet or face mask. Ruling: Personal foul -- 15 yards from the basic spot. ...''

Makes it pretty clear...not saying that he intentionally did it....but he did lead with the head, so therefore a foul.

warhawkclownshow

Who cares if he did it on purpose; on D you try to hit people as hard as you can given the opportunity, don't want to get hurt don't put your self in an unprotected position.  Moe should have known better than to try and get a few extra yards, any qb in the open field has to know that the D just wants to unload on them to get to the backup.

Ironically after extensive review of the replay we have a different opinion.   One that at least has the consistancy of being shared by the official.

Got that from the Cap Times article about the MSU hit on Jefferson...I would assume that the same would apply.
