um, BoBo?

Unless they teach math differently down in Whitewater, the Blugolds are 5 points away from being 0-3 in the conference, not 3 points...
;)

Pat Coleman

Bgbacker, I think it makes more sense to wait until a poll comes out before complaining about it.

Thanks for the invite. I may try to "chime in" more often.

Yes, the 'Golds are five points away from being 0-3 in the WIAC. That's part of what makes football such a great game.

If you'd like, I'll plead "guilty" to whining.

But here's a fact you may not have realized. No team has more winning records in the WIAC this century than UW-EC.

Mr. Downtown ... thanks for the comments. The first of those 350 (or whatever it is) was Oshkosh 20  Stout 10 on 11/6/71. The next year, I got to witness "Honker" Young's only undefeated WSUC Title (led by QB Pete Koupal from Eau Claire Regis).

And, yes, the BG's need to focus on UW-RF ... never easy at Ramer.

Pat -

I was referring, of course, to the highly-regarded (cough, cough) Don Hansen poll.

Pat Coleman

Oh.

"Poll" implies multiple voters. Let's call it a "Ranking" instead. :)

Point taken ... although I think Don's wife's brother and their kid also vote!

bgbacker

Pat -(and I'm not trying to be sarcastic) ... what is the d3.com Top 25? Isn't it a poll of coaches?

Pat Coleman

A note at the bottom of the Top 25 and/or the FAQ will answer that question. :)

bulk, I really don't know how they do math down in Whitewater, since I went to La Crosse, but you seem to be a real Karl Gauss when it comes to numbers.  I was just giving EC the benefit of getting into OT before losing out  ;).  But, if you'd rather have the 'golds lose outright in regulation time, then, that would OK with me, too.  However, rather than dwell on this any longer, I think your time is better spent getting the smoke and mirrors ready for taking on River Falls.  And, as I mentioned before, good luck the rest of the way for you and your blugolds.

Now, I must get back to the Packers and Bears!! Do you have a favorite in this one?  Brett's on a roll in this one.  If only Jones can hang on to the ball, the Pack might be OK?

And look just like that - Farve to Jennings 41 yard TDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!  Gotta go!!  :)

New Top 25 is out with 4 WIAC teams in it.  I won't spoil it, I'll let you check for yourself, but bgbacker should be happy.

I am happy with the new d3poll, although it still means nothing. of course.

And, Bo Bo ... way to work a Karl Gauss reference in!! What other discussion board in the country has had quadratic reciprocity and Rodney Dangerfield jokes in the same week??!!

bulk19

Karl Gauss and quadratic reciprocity??? You guys are way over my heads on those references... I must have skipped classes those days...  ;) Nowadays, though, I can just Google them, instead of heading to the library to find out what they refer to...

As one who has lived in GB, I know that the people there have only two games that matter every year - Bears vs. Packers...

It's "Bear week" in Titletown, and I, and the rest of the Packer Backers in the state, and across the country, hope the Packers "step on the necks" and finish off the Bears to close out tonight's game with a W...

Now, that's reaching.  ;)

I said after our game with EC that they have a pretty decent defense and I'll admit I'm glad they didn't  figure the quarterback situtation out quicker.  One of your coaches commented to me that they were looking at him but didn't want his first start to be against WW

Fred, maybe this week.

Just wondering, what do you guys think is the problem with Justin Beaver? I mean, he's averaging 151 yards/game, but it appears the only thing able to stop or slow him down recently are the leg cramps that have been reported.  What's with that? With the big lead on River Falls at the half, WW was able to rest him without a great deal of anxiety, though I bet there was a lot of trepidation in Warhawk fans at the time it happened vs La Crosse.  Have there been others having similar problems or is it just Beaver?  Just seems like a rather odd ailment to sideline him two weeks in a row.
