Roocru,  hope you copy pasted that from somewhere. If not, I nominate you for the hardest working poster award for 2007.

On another note, I can't wait to see how everything shakes up statisitically. I mean, somethings gotta give.

Thanks Warhawk96,

I keep some of that statisical info in an Excel spreadsheet for my own amusement.  ;)  Not too much of a problem to cut and paste the pertinent data.

As was mentioned earler, UMHB has been excellent in the turnovers gained and the turnover ratio.  As always, I expect turnovers to be a key factor.  I have no doubt that the WIAC is a tougher conference from top to bottom, but the one thing that everyone does down here is throw the football well.   We have faced teams that are nationally ranked passing in #5 (Miss. College), #11 (Hardin-Simmons), #12 (Louisiana College),#33 (Sul Ross)and are yet to play #17 (Howard Payne).  IMHO the defenses of our opponents do not match up with the WIAC overall, but the offenses can put up yardage on anyone. (ie. Hardin-Simmons put 339 yards on LaCrosse before they settled on their starting QB and still lost 47-21)

I agree that "something has to give"!!  ;D
Anything that you ardently desire, vividly imagine, totally believe and enthusiastically pursue will inevitably come to pass !!!

Where did these two UMHB super backs come from? Are they both Freshmen/transfers? Did they play last year, and, if so, how did they do against UWW?

They played last year and they didn't do much last year. The Whitewater front 7 had their way with the MHB front seven, especially the Oline.
2007, 2009, 2010, 2011 NCAA Division 3 Champions.
2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 WIAC Champions.

Pat Coleman

All five offensive linemen return for UMHB, while UWW had significant losses on the defensive line.

Only one of the two UMHB backs played last year, Warhawk 96.

Thrasher (Senior) was 16-72 rushing and 2-15 receiving.  Daniels (Soph) is not  listed as participating in last years game.

Goal Line Stand

The general consensus on the ASC boards seems to be that the Cru will roll into town and run all over UWW's front 7.   8)

Goal Line Stand

Afterall, how good could they be without Kleppe.   ;D

Whoops my bad, I remember them having two all conference guys last year.

Last year VS MHB:
1. No Beaver
2. Reuland goes down mid game
3. 40 degree climate adjustment
4. 17 hour travel/practice day the night before
5. Two blocked field goals

If you ask me, last year the deck was stacked so high against us that Shaq couldn't see over it. If they are thinking that their D will shut us down and then they will run all over us because Kleppe isn't there they have another thing coming. Our run game will be much improved and our defense as a whole is statistically right around where we were last year.

There are very few who think this game will be a walk in Texas, and the FEW posters that have said they think it will happen are some of the younger and less experienced among.  It will be a fight and the team knows it.  Hopefully the few people who were on the team in 04 can help the others figure out how to deal with the travel.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

mhb8904,
I was going to say a similar thing.  The couple guys (and that's all it is) that are posting those comments don't seem to have total respect of the community as a whole down there.
BTW, do you have a link to a local newspaper (or just the name of it) in your area that covers your team?  I'm too lazy to try and find it myself.  Thanks!  :)

http://temple-telegram.com This paper frequently has player articles  from midweek to game day.  Sometimes the stories in the paper are abbreviated, but the sports stories are usually full articles
http://www.kdhnews.com these guys are hit and miss on coverage, but what is written is usually pretty good

Thanks mhb8904.  I guess those Belton H.S.  Lady Tiger volleyball players on the front page are pretty representative of the local flavor of Texas, as well? Maybe, soon, I'll get to the football articles, too.  ;)  :D  ;D

The Temple paper mentioned earlier actually already wrote an article on the hype of the game and some pre-game stuff UW-W has planned.

But, crufootball, although this game is a biggie, as the WW AD said in the article, they do that kind of stuff for every game.  That article seems to have be written with a lot of help of the notes currently on warhawkfootball.com and appears to suggest that these promotions are all because of the MHB game...it is not entirely correct, however.

BTW the mild and pleasant weather indicated in the article may be incorrect.  The latest extended forcast calls for rain on both Fri & Sat.

Thats awesome to hear that the school and town are involved enough to support pregame activies for any game. I wish their was more stuff like that for UMHB games in Belton, but oh well. Thanks for the weather report, guess I will have to pack the rain gear.
