The money you're making you should buy a whole set.

Current Belton Weather:

Current conditions as of 8:15 am CDT

Feels Like:    39°
Barometer:    30.07 in and rising
Humidity:    81%
Visibility:    10 mi
Dewpoint:    34°
Wind:    N 3 mph
Sunrise:    7:41 am
Sunset:    6:47 pm

It's not exactly summer here, short weather but not summer.   ;D

From the sound of it the game should be played in mid-50's degree weather which, with the wind aside, I don't think will be that big of a deal.  Typically we have northern winds this time of year and depending on their strength they could have some impact.  However how much impact that has remains to be seen.  I wouldn't say the deep passing game, on which it could have more impact, is our strength.  Though we do have a good kicking game and a facing a stiff wind there presents problem not only on field goals but also field position on other kicks.

However one factor which could have some bearing is the field surface itself.  The field is in great shape though when I last saw it a week ago it had taken somewhat of beating from the marching band contest held earlier in the week.  WHITWATER plays on natural turf and I've been told MHB plays on an artificial surface.   That could slow them down somewhat.  Plus rain is predicted tonight and into the morning tomorrow which will soften the surface and perhaps impact footing.  Lastly I'm not sure how short it's going to be mowed.

In summary the field conditions will be more of a factor than the temperature itself.  Though obviously the field conditions will be determined, in significant part, by the weather.   We have a terrific grounds crew and they'll have the field prepared just the way we like it. ;)

Well, our playing field may be turf, but our practice field is not.  And if any of y'all have been to Texas, you know the rain can bring it.  We have played our fair share of wet games, cold games (just ask MU), and we play in the wind.  As with any game, this is going to come down to who wins the trenches.  This will be a bruttle battle and I can't wait to see it!
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

Barber Greene

For those in Texas (or anywhere else) that can't make it to the game the game can be seen over the internet here

They don't practice on their turf field?

Damn, so we get no advantage from the field or the weather.  Guess we will just have to settle for their long travel day and home field advantage.   Anything we should know about that? Did they come in three days ago and been enjoying wonderful nights sleep at a 4 star hotel?   ;) :D  ;D
