Has anyone discussed the comeback by UW-RF on saturday.  They let(actually did not tackle him on purpose) Platteville score with 1:50, got a great kick retun to the fifty.  Scored and Two point conversion to go into OT.  In OT., they blocked a field goal and scored to win 42-36.  It is the first time I have ever seen a team just let the other team score to get the ball back.  Has any one ever seen this before?

I know this is weird, but i'd have to disagree with GOO...  I by no way think Stout has the fire power to defeat the Hawks, however I do see it being a pretty close game.. atleast till the end.  28-14 or so....  I too will not be in attendance as I will be in CA attending a seminar.. But the Beav didn't look any different from any other WIAC RB last week against a run defense that actually matches up against the Hawks big nasty's up front..  Hall, Ferron, and the Beav and are all pretty equal as far as talent goes.

These were some key stats that got brought 15 pages ago before the WW game.  If you really think Beaver is just an average back, then you need to look at these numbers.  He rushed against a very good defense that said your going to have to bet us with the pass because we aren't going to let beaver run wild.  Teams didn't believe Danny could throw and with some of the wideouts out, why wouldn't they stack the box and make them beat them another way.  That's why it's a team game, and Beaver still had a pretty good game against the #4 Rush defense in the Nation.

Jimmy, I never said he was average.. He is very very good!! My own opinion is just that Hall and maybe Ferron are very similiar in their runny styles..  All three are shorter, more compact backs that are very physical and can take it the distance at any time.   There is no shame in wondering what kind of numbers these guys could put up in WW's system.   Once again, Beaver is very very good!!

The Packers did it in Super Bowl XXXII against the Broncos.  They let them in from the 2, so Favre would enough time to try and comeback for the winning score.  Unfortunately it didn't work as well for the Pack as it did for the Falcons.

Rumor has it that Wheaton did this to Augustana in 2003.  The game story can be found here.

Not going to get into this again with bobidiot.  Just one quick thing, your system has a lot to do with your success but it definitely doesnt give you stats the Beaver has gotten 1325 this year alone, 1369 last year and 2420 2 years ago.  The best thing about that is that 2 years ago what the worst OLine in those 3 years.
By the way who are Ferron and Hall?

Great gutsy call by the Defensive coaches.  You have to give your team a chance to tie the game and the Falcons would not have had the opportunity to score without letting the Pioneers score right away.  More than a few fans by me in the stands were extremely confused by that so I had to explain to them how Platteville would've been able to run out the clock otherwise.

Hey sak,
I just heard that the equipment manager for WW has ordered extra cases of feild wrap, you know the kind the Pros's where on the turf. Should be interesting to see the WW team wrapped up like mummies to keep from leaving layers of skin on the billiard table. If it rains and gets could enough maybe they should hand out skates and sticks then toss out a puck  ;D

Time to focus on Stout.....they are coming off 2 solid conference wins.....the BlueDevils always play UWW tough up there. Hope to see the running game get going. Need to get out of there with a solid victory, clinch the WIAC, and keep home field for the playoffs.....also get a victory without getting anyone hurt on that billiard table surface.....Pound the Rock........

+k to hs coach. I read it, I thought it, but you got there first.

The Stout game will not be close because once WW gets up by 2 scores Stout will quit like they always do.(and they ALWAYS do)  Bobhawk if those two guys were as good as Beaver they would probably be featured more by their respective teams.  How do you compare those two nobodies to the best back in the history of the WIAC?

That's the smack talk the SCIAC needs. If you posted this there the "sensitive crowd" would be on prozac by days' end.  ;D
