With Trinity (TX) being kind of a hot name in sports this week, I was just wondering if any of the Whitewater elder statesmen or long time WSUC/WIAC watchers can recall that it was Trinity that was Whitewater's opponent in 1970 when the then Warhawk Stadium opened?  I know Trinity won 35-10, but does anybody remember the details of that day?  Was thinking about it this week but my memory is fuzzy.  :-\

Yes, what is odd is that Z isn't playing for UWW.   :'(

One reason could be he would have had to sit for 2-3 years before playing at WW, also can't forget what the school did to Z.

Who the school nominates is up to the coach and/or SID.  Maybe RF just wanted to recognize a different player this week for the WIAC award.

They've nominated Anderson four times this year so far and Zweifel twice. I wonder if maybe they aren't simply trying to get the senior some recognition but also recognizing the freshman's accomplishment by nominating him for the d3 team.  Anderson has had a productive career and hasn't really gotten much attention.

Yeah i understand that but 17 catches that unreal...

And Michael would not have sat for 2-3 years if he came to WW that is just stupid to think, he would be playing now especially with all the injuries.

If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Have to agree with the Express....17 receptions and the winning TD should be pretty hard to beat but never was much for player of the week awards anyways. Also agree that Z's son would be getting considerable time at UWW right now.....not 17 catches but certainly he would be on the field quite a bit......

There is a pretty signifigant talent disparity between RF and WW, I'm sure there are a half dozen WR at WW who could put up big #'s if they were thrown the ball as much as Z is.  Thats the thing about the position though, you don't need to be really good to put up really good #'s, a lot has to do with how often they try to get you the ball.  I would defenitly not take River Falls best receiver over WW back ups any year.

In this case clownshow you are dead wrong.....those who have been around the Warhawk program for the last 5 or 6 years know how good he is and know M. could be contributing right now. Lumping all receivers from River Falls in a group and saying none of them could make an impact at UWW is simply ridiculous.......

Agreed, and let's cut the negative crap, WCS.  His preformance warranted his program's nomination and D-3football honored him with the nod.  A WR that is getting that many touches has earned it.  Nothing will help you become invisible to a QB faster than dropping a few of his passes.  Considering this is his rookie year makes it even more remarkable.  Three WIAC players on the D-3 Team of the Week deserves nothing but a big round of applause!

You must be in your own little world or no nothing about football, MZ runs some of the best routes i have seen out of a true freshman and he catches every ball he gets his hands on..  This kid has been running routes since he was born and knows how to set up routes and catch the ball
