Stoutguy,

Who can ever forget the infamous "take that WHITEWATER" line.  I still crack up every time I think of it.  Sorry but I'm not able to make the trip.

There ain't going to be no freakin' tie!!!!

Trying to stir you WW guys up a bit but I guess it's early,  no takers,  and I have to go soon.  How about this one.  Our SID told me yesterday that in the event of a 3-way tie in the conference (Like that's going to happen) the team that was in the playoffs last would be the first to get thrown out of the mix.  Now if that isn't the dumbest tie-breaker I have heard in a long time.  Are you scared yet, WW, because if Stout wins and then WW loses to Platteville next week (are you scared yet?), then that 3 way tie could happen.  Now what do ya all think about that??
It's called the "Rose Bowl Rule" and the Big Ten used it for decades before the BCS came about.  Many other leagues still use it.  I know it may come into play in the SCIAC this year.

You can still call it dumb if you want, but I didn't want you to think that the WIAC invented it out of thin air.

Actually, the "Rose Bowl Rule" prevented the previous year's champion from returning to the Rose Bowl, regardless of record.  For example, Michigan State won the Big Ten in 1965 and went to the Rose Bowl in 1966.  Even though Michigan State repeated as Big Ten Champions in 1966, Purdue represented the Big 10 in the 1967 Rose Bowl.

This practice ceased in the early 1970s.

But you were close Bill.

And, if there was a tie for the championship the team that hadn't been there the longest got to go.

In 1967 Minnesota and Indiana tied for the Big 10 championship and Indiana got to go since Minnesota had been there more recently.

Right! And that part of the rule remained, after the part Old Indian mentioned was abandoned.  That's what I and the posters on the Pool C message board were referring to as the Rose Bowl Rule.

That explains the state of our business world. Wharton teachs thier students how to be unscruplous hacks that run businesses into the ground, off shore jobs, NFTA lovers, violate as many ethical codes as possible and have lack of common knowledge. Other than Donald Trump kiss asses thier not bad people  :) While people from WW and like type smaller schools, learn hard work, meaning of money and have better family values. But hell I'd bet you'd send your kid to Wharton after all you didn't like Randy's Fun Hunter resturant in WW. No spices or something like that.   ;D

Check out this link about UWW's CPA program...

http://www.uww.edu/marketingandmedia/news_releases/2006_03_cpa_results.html

I'll just give you a highlight of it...

"UW-Whitewater ranked second behind Wake Forest University among those schools with the highest rates of passing of all sections among all first-time candidates (with and without advanced degrees)."

Note: Having a great accounting program does not make you a great business school.  Given the choice between UWW and Wharton, I would recommend Wharton.   UWW may produce CPAs, but Wharton and the other schools I mentioned produce CEOs.

But whatever gets you through the night.

There is a big discussion going on in the SCIAC right now about this. OXY, Redlands and CLU could end up with this situation. OXY could be out because they were in the playoffs last year. Pat C had some more insight as to how it works out.

I think that is how the Mayor lost his hair.   I have no idea how I lost mine.

No idea because it involved barrels of beer, wrestling midgets and a half shaved goat?  All the memories of that evening are hazy?  ;)

All this "Z" talk is really interesting.  Here is what I think.  Two "Z"s will be making big noise in either Oshkosh or Platteville next year.

StoutGuy;  I'm with you.... UWW is in for a game today and Stout is up to the match.  LAX is done and RF wins also.... Kenyon owes you two for today's comments.   8)

Who's running your bumper music?  Definetely West Central Wisconsin inspired.

I mentioned it to The Earth Mother last night and she immediately told me to go.

That means she wants me to stay.   ;D

Gee stealth. You seem to have it all figured out. If I was as pi%$ed off as you I'd take my toys and go somewhere else. If I believed as you do, I would not be able to, in good conscience, live in such a corrupt society.  By the way, how many courses have you taken at Wharton in order to be so knowlegeable about what they teach. I guess you don't have to be a CEO in order to be an idiot.

By the way, it's NAFTA(North American Free Trade Agreement), and "They're"(not their). I hope they teach English better at WIAC schools that you have shown.
