Wartburg's fans will immediately come onto the message board giving all kinds of excuses as in, "if such and such wouldn't have done this then it would be different"
You mean like the Whitewater fans after the Point game?

But in that game CLEARLY if such and such wouldn't have done this then it would have been different! And, Houdini if you don't know that couldn't have not happened if not for never not happening earlier, then neither would have ever not had the opposite result!

WTF?  You can play the "what if" game and no one else can?  I do hope I missed the sarcasm in your post.

Wow! If you can't not figure out where the sarcasm wasn't in my post, then I think the unclarity may not have been confusing to the inattentive reader.

Other than Flash I see little if any humor on this board, unless there is a invaion of posters from the west of you.

Wow, Stanbob. First you are looking for sarcasm and now humor! Perhaps you should look at OxyBob's profile and hit his most recent posts.

Or perhaps you want to hang around and try to learn a little bit about football. Your quote from November 21st would indicate it might be a good idea to watch this board and learn my friend:

"Has the razing of the visiting stands started already?  I certainly hope so as the total dismantling of Warhawk football is only a mere 19 hours away."   - Stanbob, approximately 19 hours prior to the St. John's/UWW game on November 22nd.  The stands are gone, the Hawks are very much still intact!

I hope the word friend was also in sarcasm as I wouldn't p*ss on your leg if your pants were on fire.   :-*

Actually "friend: was a nicety. Not sarcasm per se. It didn't mean I actually considered you a friend. But neither do I consider you an enemy. Truthfully, I don't even know you. It was simply a nicety sometimes used to convey warmth in written conversation. I know the rest of the board isn't interested in our little exchange, so let's just leave it like this: I am disappointed you wouldn't p*ss on my leg if it were on fire. Gee, I'd p*ss on yours even if it weren't!

Ummm... UWSP gained only 89 yards per game and 2.7 yards per carry on the ground on the season. In the Point/Wartburg game, they gained 212 yards and averaged 5.4 yards per rush. (They gained 2.38 times more yards against Wartburg than they averaged. On top of that they doubled their average yard per rush against Wartburg. )

UWW averages 227.2 yards per game and 5.2 yards per rush. If they, too, gain 2.38 times more yards against Wartburg than they average, they will gain 541 yards on the ground. If they, too, double their average yards per carry, as Point did, they will gain 10.4 yards per rush.

I'm not saying this will happen. But if you are trying to make the argument that Wartburg is not in trouble in defending the run, the Stevens Point game is not exactly evidence that would win that argument!

As an interesting aside, Stevens Point (who gained 212 yds and averaged 5.4 yards per rush against Wartburg) gained 28 yards and averaged 1.3 yards per carry against UWW.

Last week, with all the talk about the prolific Willamette offense, I posed the question on the NWC board: Is anyone concerned that Willamette may have trouble stopping the UWW run game? (Not an exact quote, but close).  The only response was one word. "No". Perhaps they should have been.

If you want evidence of how Wartburg did against SP's run, just look at the scoreboard.
NKD: "We need a f**king touchdown, excuse my French"
FBD: "I didn't know touchdown was French."

Just got back from Point. Drove all the way up there and it seems their scoreboard lights are turned off! That's the last time Im going to fall for that one!

But from what I understand the scoreboard at the Perk is working just fine. Why don't you stop in at about 3:00 PM or so and see what you think of THOSE numbers!

UWW number will be big
Wartburg number will be little.
UWSP won't be mentioned!

BP, I see you are on the boards bright and early, (or up very, very, late.)  Nice stats, I always find comfort in the statisical data and always a better approach than the, "my dad can beat up your dad," style, IMHO.  But you know that they say about why they play the game.  Looks like we will see if the 08 Hawks can play football in the snow.  Our teams the past few years have been dynamite at it.  Off for the last tailgate at the PERK this season or maybe I should call it the first ski trip.  Going to challenging weather but nothing that a firepit, hand warmers and moonshine won't take care of.  ;)
Take it to 'em, Hawks, for 4 quarters!  Let's hope that when we get up, coaches won't get too conservative early. Tends to shut us down and allow for a few teams to come back on us in the 4th. Ex: Bearkitties and Point!
Safe travels to all and PACK THE PERK!

Yes, according to the official starting lineups on the stat sheet from last week. It shocked me, that's for sure. If true, he must be a really tough kid!
