Mr. Ypsi

Despite grave risk to my karma, I'll be rooting for UMHB.  As a CCIW guy, I'm very much rooting for Wheaton, but doubt they can pull it off.  But UWW @ UMHB should be a barn-burner.  And (like probably 90% of d3 fans) I am NOT looking forward to UWW-MUC, episode IV.

Since Wheaton @ MUC will conclude long before UWW @ UMHB, IF Wheaton can pull off the miracle, I'll switch my rooting to UWW, but, PLEASE, no more sequels! :P

Any chance the UWW-MHB game will be available on the internet?  I'm debating if I should make the 2.5 hour trip down to Belton or not.

Go!!  It is going to be a great game!  Both teams are excellent and well deserving ofbeing in the semi-finals.  You will really enjoy the game and the whole atmosphere.  And while you are at it, come to Salem to the Stagg Bowl.  That will be fun as well!!  It looks to be a purple affair:  UMHB, UWWW, MUC are all teams with purple as a dominant color!!

Dallas - once a Warhawk, always a Warhawk.  Now tell me you won't make the trip to Belton.  :-\ :-\

Agreed once a Warhawk, always a Warhark.  However, now I'm a Warhawk with a 10 month old.  :)  I'm still considering it, Voice.  Don't give up on me yet!

I overheard a couple of former Warhawk players at the Lacrosse game last year talking about how Belton was the loudest place they had ever played...something about beating drums....I assume that will not be allowed in the playoffs...unless we can also bring the cannon  ;D
not beating drums as much as smashing 55 gallon drums with bats and sticks, and they are not allowed in the playoffs.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

10 month olds needs football too. (in my case it was hockey.  My oldest daughter was at her first hockey game when she was 1 month old)

I'll be rooting for UWW of course. More pride in knowing that the Bearcat's only loss of the 2008 season was by 3 points against the back-to-back Nat'l Champs.

They are not allowed at any NCAA DIII game. It comes down to enforcement of the rules.
Oxy came to Salem with Blow horns and Pots and wooden spoons.......wasn't long before they were wiped out and silenced

Go WARHAWKS........Keep it in the West/ and Purple!!.
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

Great game and great final tailgate at the Perk....Good to see a lot of old friends and to see Dink....what a great job he has done with a young OLine. Just arrived back in ChiTown after a stay at the lovely Whitewater Super 8. Good luck next week in Belton and Pound the Rock boys.....Hope we can watch at home. Austin Marriott was nice and not a bad ride to Belton....Wish we could be there but we will hope for victory and a trip to Salem....

Was it me or is Cannon Guy using new artillary ? At least they could have cleared a pad for the guy ::)

he used a mortar cannon today. I beleive he used the same one two weeks ago. He likes using it instead of the regular cannon b/c it's easier to load and unload onto the hill outside the stadium.

By the way.......what happen on that interception late in the game that was called back....We left the game at that point and was watching the game at a local bar and couldn't hear the announcer's explanation. It apeared to be a UWW INT but then it was first and ten for Wartbutg...was there a pass interferance or something???

The trailer he uses to haul the cannon is disabled.  So if he wanted to use the cannon he has to disassemble it, load it in his vehicle and reassemble it when he arrives.  Then he has to repeat the process to take it home so it's been much easier for him to use the mortar.

There was a pass interference call on the interception and the official screwed up when he blew the whistle while the play was still in progress.  Evidently he didn't realize the ball had been intercepted and thought the pass was incomplete so he blew the play dead.  It was an inadvertent whistle.  It really didn't matter because of the penalty.  It was a third and 16 play and the penalty was only 15 yards but it also includes an automatic first down so Wartburg was 1st and 10 without actually having to gain the necessary yardage.

Congrats to Wartburg on a successfull season, their deepest advancement in the post season tourney and giving us one hell of a game.  They were much better than many of us gave them credit for being.  Their team speed on defense was outstanding.  We were lucky when Vetter went down in the second quarter and was unable to return to the field.  I thought #12, the tight end, was tough and their nose guard #95 (I think) impressed me as well.   The quarteback draws and seem passes to the tight end gave us fits but we did manage to adjust to them.

What a great win for the Hawks yesterday!! Jace secured his 1st TEAM ALL AMERICAN status.  Hawks and UMHB should be a great game.  UMHB is a classy program and has great talent on both sides of the ball.  That being said its hard to beat the Warhawks this time of the year, and its even harder to run the ball against them!!  Early week prediction...HAWKS 27 UMHB 17!!

BG, I wouldn't say the semis last year was easy. Regular season game, ok that was some what easier. Remember if it wasn't for the Jones 62 yard run in the 4th in the semis to get UWW into feild goal position it might have been a different 07 Stagg. UMHB is a seasoned team with what I am sure is a ton of motivation and at home. It will be won in the trenches again.  Whats the weather prediction ?

Well were at a similar spot. UMHB vs. UW-Whitewater. The Cru is an excellent football team as well as the Warhawks. I expect UMHB to come out on top, I think theyre just better, plain and simple. I witnessed it firsthand when they crushed a poorly played Wesley College. So I bring a message to the Warhawks: IT WONT BE AS EASY AS LAST YEAR!!!

Sounds like the Cru has a fine team again. Who said it was it easy last year? The national semi-final game was a hard fought battle that the Warhawks barely pulled out.
There's only one way to find out if a man is honest...ask him. If he says 'yes,' you know he is a crook.

I'm in a quandry ( and hope that the warranty is still in effect). I predicted that the Warhawks would not make the Stagg this year. However, they are a much better team now than when I made that prediction. Do I stick with my earlier prognostication, or stick with the West Region Champ, and risk a, please not again, rematch of UWW and MUC?   HELP!!

Good luck to both teams.
