Pat,
If your doing the audio then I'll have to really confuse Mrs. Stealth. Audio feeds from you and the voice, video from NCAA. May be a bit confusing with 2 audio feeds and the delays of the video but I'm good with that.  ;D  I meant no disrespect  to you or Keith you guys do a great job. I just can't take another NCAA audio talking head who can't figure out what game they are watching.

Wheaton and the Warhawks in the Stagg.

Pat, I enjoy the banter :)

But, I do not believe that making (as well as missing) longer field goals proves better distance. It can however prove that he has had more opportunities; which he did capitalize on at times (3/6 50-99 yards).

It does by default because UWW hasn't tried any from over 50 this year. We can't give someone an award based on what they can do in practice, or what they did last year or in 2006, just on what happens in this year's games.

Yes, D3football.com will be providing the audio. It may well suck but it won't suck like the other NCAA broadcasts. It will probably suck in a different way. Like by being professional (hopefully) and unbiased.

I guess the Mount guys are tired of playing UWW, too, as this post taken from the ASC board:

Cru Fans,
Most of us here at Mount Union think you'll handle UWW this weekend.
BoBo- what does your t-shirt say. Can't read the small print.

That's a darn good question  :-\ ...wish I had the exact answer for you...it's something along the line of "Welcome to Texas" and underneath, "We shoot visitors." (at least that's what I would say - may not be right!)  Pictured are the Cheesehead couple trying to look native by changing into their cowboy hats at the Texas border!  Something tells me they may not be convincing!!  ;D
That makes sense, I can see it now. When I 1st moved to Texas in 1982 there were a ton of "YANKEES" moving down here and that was a popular sentiment among the proud, myopic NATIVE TEXANS. 8)

I understand that football is the ultimate team game.  But Mike Sherman got completely screwed in the all region situation.  First off Mike Sherman plays tackle and in the West he is for sure a 1st teamer.  UWW has 2 guys who have rushed for 1,000 yards and not one OLineman on the first team.  Come on.

Not sure who is doing the audio but if the Voice isn't then it will suck like most NCAA audio broadcast do.

Look, I'm not going to come on here and say that we are going to cream you guys, nor am I going to say that we will win.  I respect your team and until we win, we are the underdogs.  I get it.  But rest assured, this is not the same team from the last two years.  We are deep, we are fast, and we will bring the A game!  The boys are ready, the fans are ready, and we will bring our best!  I look forward to every second of the game! I would not call this a "Beat Down in Belton!"  This will be unlike any other team you have faced.  Our D is fast from line to DB, we bring the hat and don't look back!

Be safe on your trip down WW fans.  Enjoy some great food at these places in town!

"Beat Down In Belton" is a term of endearment. Kinda like "Rumble in the Jungle". It will be a heavy weight fight and no one on either side of the betting line is saying any different. If it makes you feel better I'll change it "Kumbiya in Bell County"  :D ;D

You especially saw it in 04.  I'm glad you think that this is some how official now....whatever that means.  Do I speak anything different than what Wesley, W&J, and last years Gagliardi trophy winner said them selves?  They have all said that we have a very difficult D to play against.  And I think it was even said by some UWW players last year that our D was tougher than MU.

Yes it was a common theme after last years semi amongst the players, coaches and fans in attendance. MHB d was the toughest the Warhawks faced and we thank you for toughing up the fellas before the Stagg,. Now do it aging but with the same results please. Your LB core was fassssst. UWW LB's weren't half bad either  :D ;D. But I'm trying to remember the score... oh yeah.

Yeah, we had no starting RB to speak of.  The guy we have now has only started like the last 6 games.  Before that we had a true Frosh and some others who were inexpierienced. Again, if you read some of my other posts, you'll see that our guys were not ready for that game: a lot of inexpierience traveling and heads not in the right place.  That loss and the loss to y'all last year in the semi's has added up to a different team.  It will be interesting to see the change.

Concerning UMHB's loss to SOU, going into the game I was very concerned (I posted on the Northwest board before the game that a loss would not surprise me) because the CRU looked more like a MASH unit than a football team. I don't know if I have ever seen a team so decimated by injuries.

It was not just injuries at the running back position where the 5th and 6th position on the depth chart were playing, but there were significant injuries in the secondary, D-line etc... True to form, Coach Fred did not use the injuries as an excuse, nor do I. They lost the game, period. As you will note, the stat sheet has no place to record injuries.

I saw UMHB play Louisiana College during the injury epidemic and they did not look like the CRU we have all come to expect. They won, but it was ugly. I think that was true all during the time of the injury bug.

UWW knows something of dealing with injuries to significant players. In 06 you had to play most of the season without Beaver. I am sure there were times during the 06 season that "what if Beaver were playing" crossed the minds and even the lips of Warhawk fans.

UMHB lost All-American Quincy Daniels for the season the first play of the second game (I hope he can return as his old self for the 2009 season). It certainly would have been great to have someone with his break-away speed in the backfield, but life and the seaon goes on.

I heard someone say once that excuses are lies packed into the skin of reason. In my experience, excuses are the exlusive property of perennial losers who see themselves as victims of injuries, bad breaks, poor officiating, etc... No excuses for the CRU, they went to SOU late in the seaon, played poorly, turned the ball over and lost.

The CRU faithful will all agree that the SOU game was the low point of the season (probably an understatement). A lesser team would have made excuses and wallowed in self-pity. The CRU, however, sucked it up and went back to work. Some players got healthy, others stepped up their play and here they are in the semifinals. It is understandable the UMHB faithful are proud of the 08 CRU.

The SOU game is quit irrelevant now. Comparing scores and losses at this point of the season is pointless.

Mount, Wheaton and UWW are all to be commended for making it to the semis. Each team has had to battle through a long season. They all deserve to be in the position they are in. And all our talk and bringing up past results are nothing but empy rhetoric. These four teams will settle the issue of who is the best team in DIII for 08 on the field.
