My brother and I are reporting live from the Holiday Inn Express in Winchester, KY.  Its 45 degrees and rainy this morning.  It took us 8 hours to get here from Racine.  We anticipate another 5.5 hours on the road.  We are very excited about the 'Hawks chances this Saturday.  Also, we are thankful we left when we did because our home town is currently burried by 11 inches of snow!

OLINEMOM, we brought you a gift.  Look for the Dodge Ram Truck that is black with silver stripes.  You will see two large males drinking beer.   :)  Thank you so much for your support over the last couple years and for the delicious cookies and brownies.

GO WARHAWKS!!
We don't rebuild.  We reload.  Finish the mission.

Very relieved that we are not trying to fly out of Chicago today to Roanoke as in years past.  Tough weather conditions and not a lot of room for error with the early kick off tomorrow.  Safe travels to all especially the student bus and those driving.  The student bus has made that same trip for the last 3 years, Stealth.  They leave late Friday afternoon, drive all night, get there a few hours before game, watch it and leave within the hour after game and arrive back in UWW in the wee hours of the night.  At least 26 hours on bus for a 4-5 hour stay in Virginia!  Their dedication is awesome and greatly appreciated by the team, I am sure.  Since not going to Salem this year, will be enjoying the game in Whitewater at the bars which seemed to be the next best thing.  If we can't PACK THE PERK, I say we PACK THE BARS!
Good luck WARHAWKS! Time to REPEAT!  No longer should they be referred to as the young WARHAWKS.  They have earned their stripes and identity and I get the feeling that they aren't just happy to be there.   ;)  My most important key to the game is to win the LOS.  We do that like last year and nothing but good things will happen!  I'm sure that having DJ on the sidelines will be a huge asset to Donovan.  Oh ya, protect the ball and play tough, run stopping, QB sacking, ball hawking DEFENSE, DEFENSE DEFENSE!

Understatement!   :D    91, you will find her at the Stone Station tailgate handing out brownies!  Follow the smell of delicious chicken to the large Stone Station banner.  She will be the short one wearing moroon and gold Bridgewater gear!  Give her a hug from me!  Safe travels the rest of the way.

How long of a drive is it to Salem from Wisconsin?  Have most of the Warhawk fans already left?

Like I said, we left early so we hit some Chicago traffic. At the moment, we are in Charleston, WV after about ten hours. It's about four hours then tomorrow. We stayed ahead of most of the cruddy weather (wanted to use a stronger adjective but dulled it down for the boards here). We made it back on the turnaround a couple years ago in 13 hours, so....

On a side note, driving all the way here gave me some time to think (watch out!). This matchup kinda reminds me of the first one. No tangible evidence, but here goes.....If I recall MUC had a young, unproven quarterback who dominated that game (won mvp, no?) and a freshman RB who had just shown up during the playoffs. Against a team that had some upperclassmen leading them (Warhawks), and managed to show up and win. I know it's a stretch, but like I said, tons of time to think.

I love the karma of this thought!  And as I pointed out earlier this week, MUC also had a very uncharacteristic loss that season to a conference opponent that many of their fans felt helped to re-focus the young team and they improved every week from that point on culminating in a Stagg Bowl Championship. Some serious parallels here and I especially love how the story ends!   :)

Today must be a day for stripes...I just had a vision of Bill Murray and Harold Ramis...

I feel guilty stealing post time from the guys who are really fired up this morning but will just add my "Go for it WIAC" from the Western part of the state.  I can't help but remember our game with you guys and how close it really was at the end.  Didn't realize that afternoon that we were going up against the best of the best.  Also, just to let you guys know that we do pay attention way over here. We are having famous radio personality (not as famous as Voice, but famous), Gary Douglas and even more famous Pat Coleman on our Western Wisconsin Sports Saturday Show (WMEQ.com  Click on Listen Live).  Pat will be on at 8:35 and Gary at 9:20.

If you have nothing better to do, here are some nice interviews conducted by the UWW SID in Salem, including one with Dick Kaiser at Warhawk Playoff Central. Listen to them discuss some of the inter-workings of the D3 football committee, which he chairs.  I listened and highly recommend it to anyone...a few others, too. Also, daily notes and photo gallery included.

Good Luck WARHAWKS!!!!

Many in BashNation are pulling for you.

Hope we get to have another cocktail party in Whitewater next year.

Why should you go for it on 4th down?

Go Warhawks

I just voted for you guys to win by 7-14 points.  Even though our coach has some MUC roots, I know a lot of Little Giants are in your corner.  Win and Stevens Point has something to brag about other than Point Beer.

I hope we will come out in the playoffs next year and have the opportunity to play against the back to back National Champions.

Still on the Warhawk Bandwagon here in the Western Salem. Largely because they were the only team to beat the Bearcats this season. Hoping for a rematch next season!

Curly's Waterfront Sports Bar in Pewaukee.  As long as we don't get another foot of snow, I'm planning on being there.

Anyone else?  Bueller?  Bueller?  Frye?
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!
