surprised the schedule was released this soon. I don't remember receiving last season's schedule till later in the year. I guess it all had to do with filling the schedule up in a timely matter.

Looks like they had trouble scheduling non-conference DIII programs again...thank goodness for the NAIA, or else we would be playing a WIAC school twice again. Actually I wouldn't mind playing Point twice this year after last year  ;)

Sept. 19th BYE

Sept. 26th - University of Pacific (Wash) @ UWW

Oct. 3rd - UW-Platteville @ UWW (Family Day)

Oct. 10th - UW-Eau Claire @ UWW (Back to the 60s Day)

Oct. 16th - @ UW-Stout

Oct. 31st - @ UW-Stevens Point

Nov. 7th - UW-Oshkosh @ UWW (Senior & Shriners Day/Raffle Auction)

I believe that Sept 26 game should be vs Puget Sound, not Pacific - does Pacific even have a team?  Not sure.

Coaches' Challenge could be part of Stagg Bowl

More interesting than the Challenge is the fact that the NCAA will be reviewing the tournament selection criteria. They may look at some "football only" adjustments, since the criteria don't always translate well to football's realtively short 10-game regular season.

On the General D-III Issues board posters have discussed the effect of removing the Regional designation for football, and letting all NCAA D-III games (or even ALL games) count.

God, I just love pissing you WW guys (and Fredfalcon off) like I did last year when I said Mike Z. would be transferring.  Well, I am saying it again, and this time I really mean it.  Remember, now, you did hear this from me first. ;D

Why would this news, whether true or not, piss off any WARHAWK fan?  ???    This WARHAWKGUY doesn't give a hoot where he plays.

I just thought that you Warhawk guys would be nervous that if Mike Z starts following his dad around, that he might get dizzy or run out of moving expense money or have some attitude about it.  I was probably wrong.  I just remember that you guys get real fiesty when anyone mentions Stan or anything or anyone related to him.

Stan and I are friends and I wish him well whether his son plays for him or not.  I look forward to the day Stan has the Dubuque program in a position to take on the WARHAWKS.  It makes for great drama.

That would make for great drama, for sure.  From everything I have always heard about your friend, he will probably get himself in position to make that drama happen.

A bit puzzled by something in the article.

Although the competition went off without a hitch, a thud behind a table where Green Bay Packers linebacker Nick Barnett was signing autographs Thursday morning brought cheesemakers running. Two salami-shaped provolones, each weighing about 100 pounds, had fallen off a makeshift goalpost.

No one was injured, but everyone noticed.

Barnett politely turned down cheese samples, saying, "It's not part of my diet."

But he did sniff and taste a smoked Gouda for a video camera that recorded the contest for the Internet.

"Tastes like cheese," he said with a grin.

So what the hell was a non cheese eater doing at a cheese competiton ? Some agent he must have.  ::)

He was getting paid. If they pay me right I'll attend a PETA rally. I might still go to Texas Roadhouse and have a steak afterwards but I'd go to the rally if they're paying me.
