Havent posted in a while with it being the off season.  My comments are for the champ is here.  Like my colleague 96 said you should have kept quiet.  What a worthless post.

the champ is here to stay

Pat
I know it's not going to happen any time soon, but I am sure it will happen. As for the other two posts. I am sorry I am not perfect. I was jujst stating facts about the situation at Whitewater. I never said Lance wasn't the head coach when they won it all.  I just said that he took over a program that was well stocked with talent, which he and his staff did not recruit. Much like Urban Meyer did not recruit a lot of the players he won the 2006 national title with as he won it with someone players someone else recruited.

I don't think there is any problem with the players Leipold is recruiting.   Last year's roster contained 69 freshmen and sophomores many of whom his staff played a direct role in recruiting.  Nine of the twentytwo defensive players listed on the Stagg Bowl two deep roster were Leipold recruits.  On the offensive unit the number is twelve of twentytwo.  Essentially half of our Stagg Bowl two deep roster were recruited by either him or his staff.   There are WARHAWK fans, like myself, who feel the sophomore class may be the best of group.  All are Leipold and his staff's recruits.

Z was a great recruiter and I also feel that he will develop Dubuque into a strong program and a contender in the IIAC.  But he wasn't the only recruiter in WHITEWATER.  While he chose to leave the program both Dinkel and Borland chose to stay and both are good recruiters in their own right.  Also the program has reached a position in which it essentially recruits itself to some degree.

Will we perpetually win the WIAC and appear in the Stagg Bowl?  I doubt it.  The league is simply too good for that to happen.  But I am confident that we will be a contender year in and year out and with a few breaks here and there we will be in the running.

Lastly, is that you with a new login Shawn?   Though I consider him a good friend and wish him the best of luck in whatever he does I do feel it's time to put the Stan Z thing to bed.  It's been nearly three years now.

Whether he likes it or not, he (Z) has reached cult status among some people. And those same people have a hard time letting go. As difficult as it might be, maybe it will take the rest of us to ignore those comments for it to completely disappear.

Maybe not, based on where he's posting from, but if someone can tell me where Shawn is working these days and it matches the IP address, I'll be glad to re-re-re-institute the ban.

What? Did he use a comforter he took out of the cupboard?

Please refrain from feeding into OxyBob's opinion of your diploma.

However! the rest of us enjoy any controversy that will take an edge off of the team that has been sitting on the rest of The West for too long now.

As a Mount fan.........it was quite evident to me that once Leopold took over, the offense (especially in the 2007 Stagg Bowl) really seemed to be much more diversified and able to make plays on 3rd down.

I know some of you out there are Z Zealots, but the play-calling in the two previous Staggs (especially 2006) was ummmm......weak at best.

Just MHO.......

I pointed this out when the new name first appeared awhile ago but was shot down.  I still stand by that observation.  The red flags were and still are there and similarities seem obvious.  Access to a different IP address on occassion wouldn't be too out of the question and makes more sense to me than another poster appearing who posts the same old song and exact same, "style," we have become accustomed to.

IDubuque will be a powerhouse in the Iowa conference in the years to come and he will have them to the point where they can play Whitewater.

My guess is there are open dates on the WW schedule right now. Let's get it on why wait?

Quote from: the champ is here to stay on April 01, 2009, 01:33:28 PMHowever all good things do come to an end, and their runs especially in the WIAC,and their runs of stagg bowl appearances will eventually end as well.

REALLY? ;D
Four years running and really no end in sight based on what LEIPOLD has coming back and recruited.

I hope not. MUC 17 straight years OAC champs 14 continuous years D3 semi-finalist.

12 Stagg Bowl appearances.

Did I mention 10 National Championships.

OH, and a loss to a Leipold coached team. Seems like a pretty good fit to me. My guess Coach "Z" would not have hired the other Coach "Z" as his O coordinator either. That could be a part of it too.

And as a "CUPBOARD" salesman I resent the use of "COVER" in your statement.
My source for this infomation is "Old Mother Hubbard" Check it out it's really good reading. ::)
And in this economy I know the meaning of my cupboard being bare.

Usually agree with you BW but as a Bear fan for well over half a century and a season ticket holder for much of that ......I would just point out that giving up too much for a young stud all Pro QB is simply an impossibility for the Bears. After suffering for years with the has beens that have played QB it would be ludicrous for a Bear fan to complain.....we will leave that up to you Packer fans to criticize.....
