We know he did not play baseball this spring but was he eligible to continue to play football after the semester had ended when these grades were used to determine that he was not eligible for baseball?  I believe exams were occuring around the time of the last playoff game or the national championship.  Maybe he was not truly injured for the game he missed against stout and injury was used as an excuse so coaches and or administration did not have lingering questions about the academics of their starting quarterback as the team headed for the playoffs.  There is just alot of pieces to this that have a nauseating potential to fit together.

I haven't read everything here but would like to drop a few things on this post. One is that it would have been impossible for the mentioned athlete to be ineligible for the playoffs or Stagg Bowl. The semester at UWW ended merely days prior to the Stagg Bowl.

Second is that WW nearly lost to Stout so the notion that he wasn't really injured is absurd. Even if they were faking an injury it would make no difference in regard to his eligibility.

Haven't been on the site in about 2 or 3 weeks, so I'm sorry for the people who are sick of the LL and RP talk... so I will just sum up what I know...

1. The player(s) were dumb for not handing over Id's

2. Daly didn't contact LL about the issue before writing the story.. we had a big discussion about it in my sports journalism class last night...with Daly, the sports editor, the newspaper advisor, all present.... Also, Jeff Petrekus and Don Walker were there to talk to the class about other things (but the subject obviously came up)

3. LL was dumb to blow up like that on the RP...

again, sorry for everyone who is sick of this topic... but i wanted to get my $.02 in...

I am not trying to stir things up.  I will be looking into the academic rules of the NCAA and WIAC so I can be better informed.

You should have done that before your post. Thanks.

That would have taken too much effort.  After all it's much easier to spew innuendo anonomously.  Who cares if it slanders good people's reputation.  This is internet and we can say anything we want.

Right on BW.  You know, you are kind of fiesty for an old guy.  You best cool it a tad or that old ticker is going to overheat.  Let's change the subject again.  Have you been hearing any rumblings about Mike Z. playing for his dad?  Just wondering, not trying to get those RF guys mad at me again or anything.

Gee...you're all busy this weekend hoping this will go away, I guess.
It should.
I can take the dings so I would like to thank sakman and Wildcat11 for bringing up coach Z 6 pages into the incident.  I was going to throw the letter into the mix just because Kehres and Gagliardi had the misfortune to show up earlier.
Clarett and Owens too!
Count me in on that "this is entertaining emoticon."
Personally, I'd like to see the WW soccer team get second place in the NCAA's this year.

With Michael Z. earning nothing but praise for his work in spring practice, perhaps it's time for BlueDevilBob and badgerwarhawk to put up or shut up. So, if these two worthies are good for it, three gallons of ice cream from the Falcon Dairy Story (BDB) or the Badger Dairy Story (bw) await, should their women's intuition prove correct.  To cover, BDB must pledge two extra large pizzas (one for Fred) from Ted's Pizza, located near Tainted Lake in MeNoMoney. For his half, bw need send four krengels (two raspberry, two pecan) my way from Lehman's Bakery in Racine.  Such is the cost of rank rumor-mongering.

I have absolutely no personal knowledge of the current situation regarding the two Z's but just a few observations based on nothing.  First, no matter where Little Z plans to run routes in the fall, pretty sure he would be taking advantage of spring ball and every opportunity to help him be game-ready come the fall.  Second, with all the bets involving pastries, pizza and ice cream...............seems like your feminine side might be showing a little as well, Krestel.   :) ;) :D ;D

Oh man oh man, what I would do for one of those Danish Kringles right about now.  I once dated a girl from Racine when I was in Graduate School.  As it turned out, I've had a much longer love-affair with the Kringles then I did with her!!  ;) ;D

BTW, 4 Kringles, with express shipping, runs about $88 from Lehmann's - don't think the ice cream or pizza would be 1/2 that amount - not a good deal.
