Justin Beaver and AJ Raebel are headed to Regina Saskatchewan this week.
The two signed free agent contracts with the CFLs Saskatchewan Roughriders earlier this year.
Rookie camp opens on June 3rd with full training camp kicking off on June 7th.
Good luck to Justin and AJ on fullfilling a dream of playing professional football.

Mr. Plutchak needs to check the updated record books:  ;)

When you take things out of context, you sometimes get what appears to be a misleading or false statement. Look at the the sentence before and after the one you quoted, k'dad - seems Mr. Plutchak summed it up rather correctly...sensitive about these things I guess!!  ;)

QuoteDuring his senior year at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Beaver won the 2007 Gagliardi Trophy as Division III's top student-athlete of the year.

He also became the NCAA Division III's all-time leading rusher as he led the football team to a national championship. His rushing mark has since been surpassed by Nate Kmic from Mount Union College last year.

Not sentive, just skimmed the article during class while my students are driving me crazy during the last week of school.  Sorry, no harm intended.

EDIT:
Actually, I think the article changed since my first post.

My quote (which I copied and pasted from the article) states:
The NCAA Division III all-time leading rusher and national champion from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater

The article now reads:
He also became the NCAA Division III's all-time leading rusher as he led the football team to a national championship

1.  I didn't capitalize the word "The" as it was copied from the article and notice that there is not an "apostrophe s" after DIII in my quote and there now is one.

2.  My quote also says:
and national champion from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater

It now reads:
as he led the football team to a national championship

3.  The article now also reads "His rushing mark has since been surpassed by Nate Kmic from Mount Union College last year."  This was not there when I originally posted.  If it were, I wouldn't have posted in the first place right?

One of the nice things about online articles is that they can be changed/updated.

National Champions - 13: 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2012, 2015, 2017

BoBo

On second thought, did Beaver actually become the all-time leading rusher after his senior year? I don't think so.  Wasn't R.J Bowers the record holder before Kmic.  Beaver might have been the single season record holder after his senior year, but not the career leader.  So, maybe the writer needs to check the record books, afterall.

BOBO,

Just to clear things up here....Mr Plutchak edited his own article when he was made aware of the error so Kirasdad was correct in pointing out the original miscue.  And no harm done. We all want it right, right? I still wish Justin and AJ the best of luck in the CFL. Who is sensitive now BoBo? :-*

Suffice it to say that not many DIII level coaches wouldn't have wanted Beaver, Kmic or Bowers carrying the ball for their team.   They all gained plenty of yards.

Does anyone know what Kmic and/or Bowers are up to these days?

Kmic is about to graduate, no word on FB.  Bowers had a short stint in the NFL, no idea what he is doing now.

Good luck Justin and AJ

Best of luck Justin and AJ

I was all set to head to Regina, Saskatchewan on Monday to spend a week doing stories on Justin and AJ at Roughrider
training camp for Warhawkfootball.com.   Hotel reservations were made and all that stuff.  At a meeting last Friday someone asked
me if I had my passport - OOPS!!!   Beginning on June 1st you are now required to have a passport to for entrance to and from
Canada.  Application for my US Passport Card  is now in the hands of the US Government.  I still hope to get to Roughrider training camp.
Riders' rookie camp begins on Wednesday, full training camp opens on June 7th.
