I saw on UWW's athletic site they are putting together a golf outing in October. Anyone going to this or been to one of these before? Looks like a good deal: $40 18 holes, cart and lunch. I'm thinking about signing up for it.

Looks like you can rub shoulders with some Warhawk greats from the 60's!  ;D

no real surprise on the pre-season all-americans for UWW according to D3football.com  White (2nd), Shumpert (2nd) and Schebler(1st).

DE Marcus Ball (UW-Stout), the only other WIAC on there (first team).

I was kinda half expecting Coppage to make it, based on other pre-season polls. but no worries, it's only the pre-season...hopefully he'll play himself on there at the end of the season.

Quincy Daniels returning saved me from having to make a Coppage/Anderson call, basically.

I love it! The Warhawks do their best work with a chip on their shoulder. Grant it, it doesn't take much to put one there. I can hear "Purple Haze" (the unofficial Warhawk anthem) playing in my head right now! Man I am WAY too excited for it to be July!

This got passed over without comment. Personally, based on last years play, I would pick Anderson over Coppage.
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

I agree Flash

Which is why the decision was even more difficult. :)

I would think we will see more of Anderson this year. What were they doing last year? Two series for Coppage then one for Anderson? I think Coppage wore down. I hope he added some muscle in the off season.  He wasn't that big last year.

And what about Lavell Hewlett from Janesville? He looks to be a stud already! Many horses in the stable for the Warhawks!

If there's one thing you can bet on with WARHAWK football teams, even those in the years when we weren't on the national scene, it is that we will have talented running backs.  We just never seem to be lacking at that position.  This year it cost us a talented running back in Spaulding but I never worry about it because we just find another one like Hewlett.

I have to give some credit to the O-Line. They've been really consistant over the years, providing running lanes for Coppage, Anderson, Beaver, Wurth, and so on....

You have got that right. You have had a very dominating line in this current run of success. Much like the "Raiders" it has all started up front getting the backs out in space to do their thing. It has only been the strength of the Raiders defensive front that has been able to neutralize that strength allowing the rest of the defense to close on your talented RB's. I have been at all three of the St John's WW playoff games and especially last year your O line was able to wear down a pretty stout Johnnie defense in the second half. As a result the talented combo of backs shine as Coppage goes down and Anderson comes in and takes it to the house on his first play from scrimmage. It pretty much finished the game for the Johnnies. The bad news is they are both back and we lost a very special RB and QB.
Oh how I hope we can win a game this year. :o :P
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

You're correct '02.  I should have also have given credit where it was due.  A good offensive line can make an average back look pretty good but even the best backs aren't going to do very well behind a below average offensive line.  My bad.

Don't fret raider, with Muskingum and Heidelberg on your schedule you've got at least two wins. ;) :D
