Nice to watch the web casts and see the visiting stands in tears, disbelief and other states of disarray.

I really enjoy it too! ;)

02 - great find on the Bleacher Report article.

I read a post from an American Southwest Conference link regular that thought Mount Union, Whitewater and Mary Hardin-Baylor being s again in the D3 semifinal in '09: With all due respect to these fine teams, there are plenty of us who would be thrilled to see a final four without any of them.

LOL!     Ditto.  Salem Stadium in 07 comes to mind!   ;) :D ;D

BTW, greetings to all.  I have been lurking for months but basically took the last 4 month off from posting.  The main reason is that I have been dealing with some health problems during this time with one of my children.  But things are much improved so I am ready for some football!    GO WARHAWKS!

Welcome back 413.  Glad to hear you child is doing better.   :)

God I wish the season would start.  I'm getting tired of waking up every morning praying my DODGERS haven't blown another game off their lead and NFL preseason just doesn't do enough for me.  Though, at least, the PACKERS will get going Saturday.

I wanted you all to know that I'm the one who wrote that piece. I'm glad that, for the most part, you seem to realize that I was not making a personal attack on either school. Apparently, on the E8 boards, I'm arrogant and annoying.

As I pointed out in the piece, I think both MUC and UW-W deserve their success. It was more just a question of general parity seeming to disappear in D-III and wondering, as someone pointed out, if that's a good thing long-term.

I hope no-one on this board was offended by the piece

KitchenSink

I thought the piece was pretty fair.  More schools/teams just need to step up and get better - facilities, coaching staffs, recruiting.  And they will.  Even Mount will eventually drop back in the pack ... a bit at least.

In a year or two.  or 5.  or 10.  or ....
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

kestrel

There's nothing to apologize for when you tell the truth.  One symptom that points to the truth of your analysis is that virtually only UWW and MUC (with an occasional Linfield interloper) fans post here anymore.  For the rest of us it's a same old - same old waste of time.

No i don't really blame you....If I didn't go to Whitewater, I would probably agree with you about UWW and MUC winning all the time. from an outsider looking in, it'll probably get on my nerves too about the lack of parity. however, since I'm an alumn...I can't get enough of watching UWW on ESPN in December!!!

The article didn't bother me, bombers.  I can understand why others might feel that way and am not offended by it.   Maybe you are arrogant and annoying though, I don't know you well enough to have an opinion. ;D ;)

02 Can't agree with you more.....as the Cubs fade away it is time to turn to the Warhawks and my favorite place to tailgate the Perk. After 30 years my employer put me out to pasture so I have a lot of time to prepare the Italian beef and sausage for the opener. By the way if you have not tried it this retired life after 4 days seem to be pretty terrific..About the article I can see why people are tired of the same two teams playing every year in Salem but for my part I love it.......Pound the Rock.......

Sakman - Where do you get your beef and sausage from??? After visiting my parents in IL a couple months back I brought back some Italian sausages and I tried looking for hot giardinera up here in Milwaukee...next to impossible to find.

I'm always looking to more people to tailgate got with, as some of my UWW alumn friends don't share the same enthusiasm in Warhawk football as I do.
