I have to say the WIAC win of the week has to go to P'ville. way to go into zweifel land and steal a W, after an impressive win a week ago for Dubuque.. I was very pleased with that.

Where would you rank the individual WIAC nonconference schedules?

With the nonconference schedule the Warhawks sport it looks as though UWW are the likey victims of their own success.

Congrats to UWEC for a great effort and entertaining game.  I'll take your backfield and receiver corps on any given Saturday.

Good luck BluGolds in '09.

As far as team by team...not sure. i would definetly put UWW towards the bottom as far as nonconfernce strength of schedule....Then again no one outside the WIAC will schedule whitewater. good thing for the NAIA and Puget Sound stepping up

Congratulations to EauClaire on a terrific effort yesterday. It always sucks when you have a game that no one deserves to loose but......

Hats off to the coaching staff as well for their touch of "BRILLIANCE" on the non play on the Johnnie RB to save he clock. It was crazy to watch the Johnnie player, who was instructed to get the first down and go down, continue on to score when everyone from EC treated him like he had the plague or the football was a bomb! :o

Plus your "O" did their job getting into position to at least try and tie the game for OT.

Good luck the rest of the year....especially Oct 10 ;D.May have to travel over for that one. I saw you play WW two years ago but that wasn't much of a game. Better days ahead. ;)

Just thinking out loud, but would it have been a MORE brilliant play had the player did as he was supposedly "instructed" and taken a knee after getting the first down, possibly saving a few anxious moments (how many near cardiac arrests in Johnny-ville were there?) at the end?

Perhaps...?

Rarely have I heard a reference to the WIAC and brilliance used together, by a non-believer, in the same sentence :o .  How precious is that?

I know it is still very early but this Warhawk team could be the most talented and deep team of the last 5 years. Certainly at wide receiver, qb,and running back they are loaded.....the ? on offense is the oline and if they keep getting better the Warhawk offense is going to be hard to stop. Defense seems solid but I guess we will have to wait ans see when they play stronger competition. Special teams as usual seem very strong. Keep pounding the rock guys and with a little luck we could be going back to Salem......Unfortunately can't make it to the Perk to see the show in person until October but will be on the computer watching and listening on Saturdays....

Be really careful with a statement like this, Sakman.  The Raiders 07 team was claimed to be, "the best MUC team ever," and we all know how that worked out for them, now don't we!   :) ;) ;D

Oh I believe and it was a great call because it caught everyone off guard including the SJU staff. The poor kid didn't know what to think. I am not sure he was told to take a knee but all he was really assigned to do was make sure you get the first down and stay in bounds.
He was like an MUC freshman playing in garbage time of a 66-0 game. Don't score........if you think you might, run out of bounds. ???

Congrats to the Hawks.  Great game.  Yes, these boys are really good but these two NAIA teams were hardly a proper measuring stick.  But a stellar start, none the less, especially for Donavon and Co.  Cograts on tying the record, which will never be broken in my opinion, unless the game is close enough to warrant it and how often would that happen when a QB has thrown 5 TD passes.  Besides, who wants to be the OC that lets a QB surpass Brez's record?   ;)  Keep the focus and hard work up, Boys.  It is all about the WIAC!

All I am saying is they maybe the most talented .....that does not mean they will go all the way but it sure gives them a leg up....for the last 5 years there have been some really talented teams that just came up short in the last game because of great Mount Union teams and a sub par performance in some areas by our guys.....hopefully the 2009 edition can replicate 2007.......

Badgerwarhawk,
Check your last pick in your pick ems post for this week.   Both teams are bolded. Even though your commentary would seem to indicate that you are picking the Pointers, wouldn't want there to be any misunderstandings.   ;D

The Warhawks look very good so far this season, and have a great chance to be back in Salem again. The question what team is out there this season
that can derail their Salem visit in the post-season?
Is it Linfield, Mary Hardin Baylor or someone else. Mount Union's test is more predictable given the teams from the North, East and South that the Raiders have seen on several occasions.

Thanks, 413, I've corrected my Point/Missouri Institute of Brainieacks selection.

Unless we're prepared week in and week out and get a break here and there anyone of those teams or a few from the WIAC could be troublesome.  It's way, way too early to start talking about Salem.  Fortunately that is the thing for message boards and none of the staff or players are thinking that far ahead.

Having seen UWSP play Saturday I think there may be teams within the conference that might keep them home.  I am not saying that will happen but the WIAC isn't given the ranking as toughest in the nation for only having UWW in it.  With two others in the top 25 UWW will have to play great ball to get in the top 2 in the conference and being #2 is not guarantee that they will be in the playoffs.
