that brings an interesting (and dumb) hypothetical to mind.... Would UWW and MUC fans be williing to sit Coppage, and in return, Shorts will also have to sit...I think I might take that deal given Anderson and our offensive line, not to mention our WIAC player of the year, Donovan.

How about Shorts can't catch a pass if Coppage can't run the ball. Oh yeah, Cecil had three rushing TD's last week.  8)

And watch out wishing for injuries. Before the playoffs four years ago, most of us didn't know who Nate Kmic was, other than a JV running back.  ;)

And that, in a nutshell, is the difference between MUC and everyone else (with the conceivable exception of UWW) - we don't have Kmics on our benches! ;)

Here is a question for the UWW faithful;

How many of the UWW supporters thought that Mount Union may see them
again in Salem, when Mount lost college football's yard record running back (Nate Kmic, at over 8,000 yards) and Greg Micheli, GAG trophy winner)?

Many thought UWW would be there since most everyone was back from the 2008 team, and were picked by D3 football. While there still are 2 games to play, the question may merit some thought even at this stage, especially with 60% plus in the latest D3 poll saying there will be another MUC/UWW Stagg Bowl.

C'mon man. We all thought the Raiders would be back. It is a given at this point in DIII football history. We're going to need a sign of slippage before we think the Raiders might not be back in the Stagg. Whoa, Kithchen Sink and I are thinking the same thing!

ummmm....no deal

did Kmic take over b/c of an injury???...i don't remember that. I just remember the freshman Kmic ripping off a 90+ yard TD run in 05.

didn't a similar situation happen to Micheli in 05 or 06??? The original starting QB got pulled b/c he was either struggling or got of injured? then this kid named Micheli came in and ripped apart Whitewater.

Such brutal memories.... :'(

seventiesraider

Yea, Kmic stepped up for Aaron Robinson the last game of the regular season. And Micheli stepped up in the Stagg Bowl for Mike Jorris who was trying to play with an injured hand.

I guess it's why they play so hard because if your out for a couple of plays you give someone else a shot  at your spot.
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

Hey, Barber  ... don't sound so bummed!!   ;)
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

I thought they would get to the Stagg Bowl and then get absolutely CRUSHED by UWW when they got there. Have to say i haven't changed my opinion any.  ;D

(For those of you who still don't pick up on my often tongue in cheek approach:  I AM KIDDING!)

maybe....  ;)

Sakman 1111

I believe Coppage is the best back in the WIAC and Anderson may be the second best......Don't know how Wittenberg will attack the Warhawks but if they believe they will win it with the run game they will not be successful. Can't see the Warhawks losing unless we really play like crap and Wittenberg is way better than I think......but then my preditions have been wrong before.....If we Pound the Rock well we will be on to the final week before Salem......

Great job with the blog. Very informative analysis . I wish UWW has a hard fought, clean, injury free game this Saturday. Hopefully both of our teams can focus, and take care of business for the next couple of weeks. Good Luck and I pray we can meet in Salem again.

Witt's best plan of attack is stealing the cannon and turning it on UWW as they come out of the locker room.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Yup.  1st Team All-OAC TB Aaron Robinson got hurt at the end of the season.  When Kmic took the field in the playoffs he was just an unknown freshman with the funny last name.

Looks like the general consensus is that Wittenberg will be smashed by UWW. Does anyone have a much differing opinion or insight that indicates that Witt can win?

Yeah, I have a differing opinon.  I think Witt is going to get double smashed.   ;)

I do believe that HScoach has become one of the Warhawks biggest fan..........  I love it! ;) :D ;D

I join the others.  Get serious, man.  I can't speak for anyone else but speaking for myself I never gave even the slightest thought to Mount Union not contending for another trip to the Stagg Bowl.  Though I have to admit I'm damn glad to see Kmic and Micheli gone.  Those guys were tough on us.

It makes me wonder the people who check this site when you look at the results for the recent poll.  Who are the clueless 5% that say neither UWW or MUC will make it to the stagg and the 32% that actually say a team will be them?  Cant be St. John's fans because THEY GONE.

Sakman your predictions are almost always wrong.  But I got one for you.  42-14 final for this Saturday at the Perk.
We will see the #1 defense at the Perk this weekend.

12 Stagg Bowl trips in 16 years....please. If Mount Union taught us one thing is that they are more than capable of reloading...there was little doubt on this board that they would make it back

Quotemost of us didn't know who Nate Kmic was

I did after he hit the hole at the 2 yard line. I actually got up off of one elbow on the couch and sat up to watch the next 98.

Oh, and just out of curiosity, what was the record of the MUC semi- pr JV team this season? That's how I gauge next year.
I know this is a question for the OAC board but they seem to be bored and over here thinking what you all are going to have to eat at the Stagg Station.

Goo....I wish this certain "Saint" could've been at the Perk to take part in your festivities this past Saturday, but I had family up from Arkansas for the week.  However, I will be at the Perk this Saturday to make up for it to see UWW, yet again, set ignorant D3 "fans" straight by making a fool out of Wittenberg.....42-14?---it could be that bad by halftime---Warhawks put up at least fifty and hold Wittenberg to under 200 yards of total offense....52-14 'Hawks
Contrary to popular belief, Justin Beaver was found to actually have a large "S" on his chest and he actually is INVINCIBLE.
