Mount loses their QB...Whitewater lost Anthony White to an apparent injury...TV showed him on the training table with the trainers looking at his ankle. I don't believe he ever did return after that image. Anyone at the game see him on the sidelines?  Mount also played w/o their DE Millings for unknown reason. Anybody else I'm forgetting? Hopefully the story of the Stagg Bowl won't be who's not able to play. What would be better for UWW, Shorts at WR or at QB?  :-\ Tough choice either way.

Mount also lost their starting TB to an ACL in round 1.

so what you are saying is we are seeing the rebirth of Micheli (sp?) and Kmic??? didn't the exact same happen for them when they were freshman? starters both got hurt in playoffs and they came in and owned it???
Similar situation but I'm not sure we have a Micheli or Kmich waiting in the wings.

...can't say how proud I am to be a Wildcat.  We were picked to get thumped by WW and we fought with a mighty vengeance the whole game. I was just amazed at how even this game was considering all the factors that were involved. A few big plays by Whitewater that made the difference... but when you think about it we were right there the whole game showing the world we are at the same level as the top teams in the nation, in fact there is not much difference at all between us and them.....What a great season and I'm glad to be a part of it. Thanks for the fantastic season Wildcats....we all are very proud!

My sentiments exactly.    Great year, Linfield.

That Donovan was the only QB I have seen this year who was a match for Boeme.    He beat us, especially on that crucial 3rd and 10 early in the 4th Qtr.:  "WW 3-10 at Lin47   Jeff Donovan pass complete to Adam Brandes for 35 yards to the LIN12, 1ST DOWN WW."

That was the turning point.   Everything had been going the Wildcat way since the 5 minute mark in the 2nd Qtr. when Boeme ran for 67 yards.

And, Donovan had just thrown two bad passes and all we needed was to stop UWW to force a punt.   But, Donovan and his receiver, Brandes, came through big time.    The momentum shifted on that play.

Yes, Linfield came close to an upset, but UW-W proved again they have one of the two best programs in Division III.    Congrats to the Warhawks.

Next year.

Hopefully we're finished with all the "you're good"....."no, you're good" stuff from Saturdays game, and move on to the only game that matters.

If WW doesn't play a lot better than they did, it won't matter who is hurt for Mt. Their JV could beat WW if they don't play better than yesterday. The O line needs to drop down a pair and show Mt. they can run the ball, and do much better at pass blocking. They're not playing Lakeland anymore.
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Geezzzzz..........
Only 4 teams out of, something like 253, were still playing yesterday and the Hawks didn't blow the Cats up.  Who'da thought!  ???  ::) I heard someone say, "this is how a semi-final game should be,"  and they were right.  This ain't the BCS............ the teams playing yesterday earned the right to do so because they are all great teams and great teams make great teams earn their wins!

Similar but not really the same.  Micheli split time that year with Jorris during the entire season more than Rocco/Seaman this year.  Micheli had about 35% of the teams passing attempts in 2006 and he was a a Sophomore that year.  Kmic took off in the 1st round of the playoffs, not the Semi-finals and Morring is a Senior who has been a contributor on and off through injuries.

Hey Flash you idiot.  Calling out your O-line- NICEEEEEEEEEEE  What a frontrunner,  The reason you couldn't move the ball on the ground is because of the Cat D  line.  They didn't arrive at WW by accident.
Rather than telling the big fellas to drop down a pair how about this

It's okay, Flash.  I still like you.

Janesvilleflash, GHC is right.   Linfield's D line is tough.    UW-W's O line is excellent.    It was a battle royal upfront.    Donovan was able to get off good passes and Coppage did run for 55 yards to get that first TD.    When you reach the Regional finals and beyond, they are usually very tough teams left.

IMO, the Wildcats are no worse than the third best team in the country.   You won the game and deserved the win.   You came back after it appeared the Wildcats had taken over the game.   You shut down our running backs; no one had done that this year.    I thought your defense was superb, the best I have seen this year.     I was surprised we only scored 17 points.

We played great; just lost to another great team.   It might have gone differently, but it didn't.   Congrats, again UW-W.

Win the Stagg for the West Region!

At the risk of being called a bad name (like that hasn't happened before) I differ only in that I came away more impressed with UWW than before. Their ability to face adversity, for really the first time this year, without panic, and just get the job done against a very frustrating defense bodes well for them next week. I didn't see any finger pointing, yelling, or other signs of panic on the sidelines when they fell behind. Their game actually got better, and, it appeared, more determined. I was secretly rooting for the Wildcats (secretly because I was sitting amidst some inebriated former Warhawk players, who might have taken me to task were I to be too vocal about my leanings) I came away thinking that this was the year for UWW. By the way, the former Warhawk players included a cameo by Justin Beaver, who was not inebriated, and left that little gang quickly.

I looked for WC11 and D O.C., but got there a little late, so didn't have the time to dawdle. I was wearing my SJU hoodie and a In-N Out Burger tee for ID purposes. I did have time to get my picture taken with Wally Warhawk, who was nice enough to be  accomodating even as I showed my Johnnie allegiance.

Good luck next week, and since both teams can't lose, I'll be pulling for the Warhawks. ;D

Wesley couldn't beat Mount Union if they had a 3 touchdown spot.....

Actually it looks like they could

Spoken like someone who has lots of experience about what a teams potential is......
does 62-14 remind you of anything.  ;D

What does the score from a game three seasons ago have to do with the potential of a team that played yesterday?

Besides I'm pretty sure you guys lost the next game and ended the seasons losers just like us that year ;)

Was it then they started yelling for every mother and child in the DIII nation to hear

YOU F***ED UP!   ???

Maybe I did not hear it correctly through all my bundling.
But you and I know I did.

It's true that our rushing game wasn't as consistant as it has been this year but we did block well enough to rush for 190 net yards.  While a good share of that came on Coppage's two long runs you have to look at the whole picture.  You can't take those runs away any more than you can take Boheme's long run away from Linfield.  Linfield's defense was good and the one thing they did exceptionally well was control our offense on third down.  We just couldn't finish things against them.  After completing a gaudy 55% on the season Linfield held us to 2 for 10.  One of the two coming on the initial drive of the game and the second not happening until Donovan hit Brandes in the fourth quarter.  You have to give them a lot of credit.  No defense has done that to us all season.

Fortunately when push came to shove our offense did enough to get the job done and our defense stepped up with three stops that included two turnovers and kept Linfield's offense from scoring any more points.
