Weather is now looking like it will be a snow bowl in Salem.

Good?  Bad?  What does everybody think it could mean (if anything)?

I'm leaning towards GOOD for Whitewater, bad for MUC. Sounds like MUC has had their share of struggles running the ball. They burn most of their opponents throwing the ball down field. If the weather doesn't cooperate, hopefully the snow/sleet will slow down their passing game...especially if Rocco doesn't go and there's an inexperience QB taking the snaps.

It shouldn't affect Whitewater as much, due to their balanced offensive they bring to the party.

IMO

Just another reason why the Raiders have no chance this weekend and might as well not even show up.  ;)

Agree,  but have you forgot that Cecil can really run too! Mount will throw
the ball and if Rocco plays his arm can hangle the wind, as evidenced in other windy days. The question still remains, who will throw the ball and who all will catch it!

Trust me, i didn't forget about him....he's the best athlete on the field (and I'm talking about both teams here).

We talked about this earlier in the week, regarding if we would rather see him in the backfield (QB or Wing back) or as a WR. Most of us agreed we rather have him the back field with 11 warhawks in front of him watching his every move, compared to one-on-one coverage he might get as a wide out  (i.e. last year's first qaurter  ::) ). I'm not saying we'll be able to stop him in the backfield, but I like our chances better....won't be easy either way  :-[

Remember that LK can easily remember what BE did to them in '03. I wouldn't be surprised if he took what he learned there, and use Shorts in a similar manner if the conditions dictate.

02 Warhawk,

I just think the top rankings throughout the year, 14-0 records earned through the play-off system make the D3 championship something special. No Doubt it is great to win it, but it also great to have the opportunity to win it. Both schools and their alumni, supporters should be very proud. I know I am for Mount as you are for UWW. The game has always been special!

I think one advantage Mount has right now is the unkown variable under center. No doubt they'd just like a healthy Rocco, but it has to be a headache for UWW right now trying to prepare for two very different offensive possibilities.

That's a bit of a stretch. SJU still had a healthy Keating at QB. If memory serves me, they brought in BE as a RB, not as a QB, as Shorts would be doing on Saturday if Rocco isn't a go.

As a MUC guy, I'm more worried about wind and rain than I am snow.  The nasty weather we had in '07 would mess up this Mount offense.  At least in '07 we still had Kmic and a very mobile QB.  Now we have a weak running game and pocket passing QB.  I'd love to be playing on a dry 50 degree day with no wind with the MUC receivers and a healthy QB, but that's not going to happen.  So hopefully the defense shows up in a big way.   I'm beginning to think the first team to 20 points wins.

Safe travels to all those heading to Salem.  Looks like it's going to be an interesting weekend weather wise.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Elliott was THE reason St John's won that game.  He was a beast.

And I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Shorts line up at TB some on Saturday.  If Rocco can't go, the backup Neal Seaman is a very good option QB which would make things interesting with Terrance Morring returning to FB (which he played in '06 and '07), Seaman at QB and Shorts at TB running the triple option.

...and when UWW has the ball, we'll see Shorts at Cornerback, Seaman at Free Safety, Morring at Middle LB, ....and on and on and on we go  ::)...considering what Pat said on the Daily Dose, it looks like Rocco (looked fine at the workout), Shorts, Morring, and Seaman all taking up their normal game day positions (on or off the field as the case may be). All these other combo's being heaved around are what I considered to be the Mount fan's snow job on the rest of us just to bring confusion and mass hysteria to the Warhawk faithful. Kudos to the Mount followers for your nicely choreographed effort, but not everyone on this board was born yesterday. Just like in academic life, there's B.S., then M (more). S., than PhD (piled high and deep). Seems you all earned your on-line doctoral degrees today...congratulations!!  ;)  ;D

News Flash:
UWW finds 1 week of eligibility left for:
Raebel,Rindahl, Jones, Beaver, Stanley, Turk and many other UWW greats. All seen practicing in Madison. MU coachs now scratching thier heads wondering who is going to start where and when. Rumor has is that there will be no game plan on either side of the ball for UWW. Leipold overheard at practices "just go out and draw them up in the snow fellas. You know how its's done. I'm staying inside" Borland "kick thier asses all over the place for me. I'm staying inside with Leipold" Coach Z "remember fellas, 2nd place is the first place loser so get me 35. I'm going inside with the others"
More to come later from the BS Network
There's only one way to find out if a man is honest...ask him. If he says 'yes,' you know he is a crook.

Mr. Ypsi

Just saw on the Daily Dose that Nate Kmic is doing scout team duties for MUC.  Something tells me he can give a better Coppage impersonation than most schools' scout teams! :D

Current score on the week:  UWW 1  Mount 0 (Jay Carpenter, MUC place kicker was also a finalist)
