wildcat11,

I think the uproar two years ago was because he had only been the coach for one season.  I think as time goes on there will be less of an uproar should LL leave. Personally, I like to see a coach give four or five years to a program at least. But I can understand why one would leave a little earlier given the right opportunity.

Plus, I think things are a little more stable at UWW now. We have two very competent coordinators in place. Coach Z has shown his ability as reflected in the national assistant coach award. And Coach B...well what more is there to say. Several years in a row of being one of the top defenses in the country.

In the event that Coach Leipold took another HC position, would it not be something if Coach Z became UWW's HC.
Now you have a Raider alum coaching a Warhawk program. That would
be great!!!!!!!!! :)

You have to be careful when using "Coach" and "Z" together Raider 68 because there are some hyper-sensitive Dubuque fans who think their Coach Z is going to be returning to UWW!!

DII QB transfering to Whitewater.

Started as a freshman at MSUM, but leaving because of coaching situation. Grew up next to Whitewater. Has a stain on him, but probably not a bad qb.

From the article:
QuoteFry was convicted of a misdemeanor sexual assault charge in June before he joined the Dragons, a charge that stemmed from an incident that took place last January.

From another article:
QuoteZachary H. Fry, 18 ... was charged Thursday in Rock County Court with sexual assault of a child between 13 and 15 years of age. The girl told police she and a friend were given a ride by Fry and another person to a home on Madison Avenue in Milton on Jan. 24, according to the criminal complaint. At the home, Fry forced her onto a bed and assaulted her despite her refusal, according to the complaint.

Ended up plea bargaining down to a lesser charge (not rape) and served 40 days last summer.

Seems like we get a couple of QB transfers each year. I am glad the kid seems to be focusing on his education first (the quality of the UWW business school).

Whatever happened to that California JC QB that was transferring to UWW last year, I think his name was _____ Rump, that was supposed to be "the real deal?" Has he ever been located? Did he ever make it to Whitewater?

I really wanted to parlay this post into a Saint John's zinger but I think that would be way out of bounds.   :-X

Yes, he came to WW for a couple of days of practice. Then left.

Do you know if he played anywhere after leaving?

I don't. The Google provided no info either.

He wasn't on Sierra's 2009 roster (the school he transfered from). thought he might try crawling back there.

Zach Fry is from Milton, so he's more or less coming home.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

Fry took over as Milton's starting quarterback after Bruce Langer graduated.

KitchenSink - thanks for the words last week!! :-X

bearcat009

He had to return to Ca. do to circumstances that were out of his control. Too bad as it would have been nice to see how he developed. It was not that he quit, or tried and didn't work, or went crawling back to Sierra. Heard he did not participate anywhere in 09 as I believe it was too late. Hopefully he does for Fall 2010.

Good luck to Mr. Rump in whatever he decides to do.
