Please, please, forgive me one more post but the UW-W football site has a wonderful article promoting the Cure 33 fund that was started for my son by Dr. Plinske, Coach Liepold and Justin Beaver.
There are no words to adequately express our gratitude to them.

footballfan413,

Thanks so much for keeping us all up to date on your son. I read his journal as much as I can! Positive thoughts and progress! :)

Dianne, I think the more links and updates the better and are appreciated by all of us.

Thanks, Bob, that is good too hear but I don't want to drag the boards down too much and apparently someone else agrees as I lost two karma points over the last few days.  Seriously, who smites a mother whose son has cancer?     :P   ;)  LOL.  I got to laugh once and awhile.  Anyway, he starts chemo on Monday for 9 weeks so it is just a waiting game now.  Hoping and praying that he handles the side effects well and it does it's job.  We will get to our destination, just a question of how bumpy the road has to be.  Thanks again for all the love and support.

I very rarely give or take karma.  Personally I think the feature is silly.  But I've made an exception today.  +k for you 413.

I'd guess your karma bandits were likely jealous of the championship ring that graces your posts.

Hang in there, all of us in Iowa are hoping and praying for your son.  Thanks for your recent posts on the IIAC site.  Some things just don't seem fair.  What Purple Haze posted over there seems to hit the nail on the head.  We watch our sons fly around the football field being seemingly invincible and then the reality hits that even some of these well conditioned athletes can be vulnerable to illnesses.

Thanks, Gentlemen, but I wasn't angling for karma.  I tend to do just fine with that over the years.  Just shaking my head about getting smited when my only posts recently have been about my son.  But, hey, if it's all about the rings.......well, I can live with that!  ;)

Watching the Cards vs. the Saints and I can't decide who I want to win.  ???

A local reporter back in A.J.'s home town who has been following his career since HS called and asked him if he could write about his fight.  Post Patterns leads off the article!   :)

"As a two-time All-America linebacker at Wisconsin-Whitewater, AJ Raebel was familiar with the chatter on NCAA Division III football message boards.  They're debating all year long," said Raebel, a Cary-Grove graduate who helped the Warhawks win their first national title as a senior in 2007.  They're always debating about which team is better or which team is overrated.  In the past few weeks those message boards have been a busy place, but for a much different reason."

"The D-III community is such a tight family," he said. "For everybody to look at my situation [and come together], it's been really wonderful. It's been nothing short of amazing."

"There are a lot of people out there showing their care and concern," Raebel said. "I really appreciate it. When things do get hard, it'll be nice to go back and read those messages again and know who has my back."

There's only one way to find out if a man is honest...ask him. If he says 'yes,' you know he is a crook.

I'll second that and add another +k. I appreciate the updates, too.

Isn't it possible that someone smited ff413 based on an older post about something completely unrelated, and not the current discussion?  Just sayin'.
