There's only one way to find out if a man is honest...ask him. If he says 'yes,' you know he is a crook.

Play of the week was Garcon chasing down Reed after the pick and causing a fumble. Yes he is turning into a top shelf player. Much respect to him.

Although he is not well liked by WW fans. I think he is a top shelf player before that great play. He did help MT. Union win 2 national titles, and got a chance in the NFL. To make it in the NFL you better be a top shelf player.

Warhawk  Babe.......Nobody from UWW has ever debated Garcon's talent.....he obviously is a very talented young man then and now. The reason is so disliked by our players and fans who watched his antics in Salem is that he acted like a pud.....

Admittedly I can't bring myself to respect him.  However I have to admit that when his opportunity came he made the most of it and has developed into a pretty decent NFL level wideout and he made some nice grabs in addition to the play in which he forced the fumble.  He could end up wearing a Super Bowl champions ring.  Aside from London Fletcher (Rams, 1999) I wonder if any other D3 athletes have played on Super Bowl championship teams.  I know Ken Anderson lost one with the Bengals.

Didn't Clint Kriewaldt (UWSP) win a Super Bowl Ring with the Pittsburgh Steelers?
2008-09 and 2012-13 WIAC Fantasy League Champion

2008-09 WIAC Pick'Em Tri-Champion

Good call, cubs.
Kriewaldt played for the 2006 Super Bowl champion Pittsburg Steelers.

Nick Kating is a top shelf player  ::)
Not sure what the overall percentage could be but I would imagine that there are more than a few D3 FB players that could at least make the practice squads of the NFL if given half a chance.
Didn't either of the Turks play in super bowl ?

Neither of the Turks have played in the Super Bowl.  Also Dan Turk didn't play college football at he D3 level.  He played D1 at the UW.

Who was the offensive lineman from LaCrosse who had a lengthy career in the NFL?  For the life of me I can't remember his name and I wanted to check his bio.

EDIT: I found it.  He was Tom Newberry.  However a quick check revealed that he also never played in a Super Bowl.

Newberry? Was in the 80's I think.

UWL's Billy Schroeder was on the Packer Super Bowl roster when they lost to the Broncos...

Mr. Ypsi

The pride of Wabash, Pete Metzalaars, was on all four (losing) Bills teams.  So although he was never on the winning side, I believe that makes more Super Bowl appearances than any other d3 alum.

His senior year at 'bash he not only headed up an undefeated fb team, he was the star of the national title-winning basketball team.

Mr. Ypsi

Just ran across another d3 player in the Super Bowl (and a Wisconsin school, no less :D): Jim Jodat of Carthage was special teams captain for the Rams when they took on the Steelers in SB XIV.

Newberry played for the Rams from 1986-1994 and for the Steelers in 1995.  None of those teams played in the Super Bowl.
