Quotetaking our program to the next level

Would that be Division II?

badgerwarhawk

No, that would be taking it to elite level of DIII.

I'm reading UWW scheduled Mount Union and that aided in getting to the elite level?

UWW played The UMU (formally known as MUC) in a Home/Home series in 2002-2003.

Brez has been quoted (somewhere) stating that those games helped UWW know what they needed to do to reach the "elite" level of DIII.  Some have said that has helped them make that step, and win two Stagg Bowls.

During the same time frame he also scheduled Home/Home series against St. John's and St. Xavier (a strong team from the NAIA). He and the rest of the coaching staff wanted a first-hand look as to what a "winning program" looked liked in person. He Then went out and heavily recriuted those types of players that would get whitewater football to that level...And he did a great job I must say.

Got it. Now sitting atop the whole shebang a second time.

As well as having been to the Mount ain 5 times.

I haven't been here for a while, so first I would like to say that it is great news that A J Raebel is doing well. I hope our prayers, or if that's not in your mode, the collective positive karma, is helping.

Next, I know a good chiropractor if your arms are getting sore from all the back patting. ;D

Summary:

1. Milton's Zach Fry (QB) is transfering from a DII school to WW.  Also some kid named Morris from Kenosha, another QB, is transfering from a DII school.  He'll probably end up at a different position like safety or CB.  A Jimmy Treslley (Madison Abundant Life) is coming.  He's a large offensive lineman.  And a Chad McCaroon from Illinois announced.  He played at the same school as AJ Raebel.

2. AJ Raebel has testicular cancer.  413 is his mother.  She's been keeping us up to date on his treatment and the word is that he is doing very well.

3. Lance Leipold was not a candidate for either the Tennessee or USC jobs.  :D

4. Garcon played well in the NFL playoffs and the Super Bowl.  Plus his Super Bowl TD catch cost me $190.

5. Jim Zembrowski was hired as the quarterback coach at Northern Illinois.  Steve Dinkel is taking his place as offensive coordinator.

6. Most of us got the DII championship DVD instead of the DIII one we had ordered.

7.  Jeff Donovan is playing baseball this year.  There was some discussion about who was the best quarterback.  Most went with Donovan and Justin Jacobs.

8.  Some guy named Cecil Shorts has decided to play his senior season at Mount Union.  I guess he's pretty good. ;)

9.  UW-Platteville recruited a female place kicker from Waunakee and announced it publically.

10.  Oshkosh is playing Mount Union in 2010.  That led to some discussion about WW/s scheduling them and the role that played in taking our program to the next level.

11.  Contrary to rumor Mount Union does have a football banquet in years which they have not won the National Championship however the community shuns them.  ;)

12.  Second place is for losers unless it's the Olympics.

That about sums it up.

Wow!  Very nice recap!  I was just going to say that he hadn't missed much................. a typical off season.   ;) :D

Thanks for the kind words and support, Stealth.  You all were an easy clan to fall in love with.  ;) :-*  Hopefully, we will all be together again soon.

It is bad enough that this is now the off season with very little football to talk about.  We don't need to bring the boards down anymore with all this cancer talk.  My son will be fine!  We have faith!  Thanks again to all for the outpouring of love, support and prayers.  We are amazed at the number of lives he has touched because of this wonderful world of D-3 football.  BTW, where is BoBo?  He must be busy and will be upset he missed my, "coming out,"party!   ;D

Please................ back to football talk.  Congrats to Coach L.  A very well deserved honor!

Welcome back, BoBo!  Don't think you weren't missed!!!!   :-*

I didn't see LaCrosse anywhere on that list.

Finally got the rest of my championship gear order today.  The packaging was torn to heck but the shirt was unscathed.  Think I'll wear it to work tomorrow.

you're right...they weren't included on it

BoBo back from hibernation... :D

I believe the reason for UWL not being on that list is that they only had 8 inter-division games last year - that list is for schools with minimum 9 inter-division games.  ;)

...now I have to go back and get some reading done so I can get up to speed with all that may have happened in the last 2 months!! On second thought, time is precious...anyone care to summarize?

Unofficial tally - UWL's opponents had a 56-51 record, a .523 clip, which would have placed them on the list in the 80s or 90s, if I remember correctly from the chart I looked at...

Great summary, badgerwarhawk...

I think you may be talking about Steven Morris. He was actually the quarterback for Racine Horlick and had interest from a number of schools. He was voted the 2008 Journal Times Racine County Player of the Year.   Since this has already hit the media, here's the link:
