Any thoughts as to what the "replica" jerseys may look like that are mentioned on warhawkfootball.com?  Any chance of them looking official?  For $90 a jersey I would hope they would.  If anyone has a preview besides what the website shows I would love to see one.

Usually "replica" jerseys are just as it sounds, exact copies of the original - down to the specific details, like stitching, etc. However, IMO replica jerseys still couldn't pass for the real thing - kind of like a child's version of the game ready model. They seem to be tailored to fit the body w/o things like shoulder pads. The authentic game jersey would definately cost 3 figures, where the replica is under $100. When I was younger, I had a Cowboy Danny White authentic game jersey I got at the old Merle Harmon's Fan Fair in Milwaukee- it was, if I remember, just under $300 - that was 25-30 years ago. I have no idea about these Warhawk replica jerseys.  ;)

I'd pay $300 for an original 1998 #3 jersey.   :)

Mount Union sells original authentic jerseys and helmets signed by the HC in the Bookstore. I agree, make the authentic available!  :)

Would think that St. Thomas and Cal Lutheran would show up in the top 25.

I had the opportunity to get a look at the UWW Warhawk replica football jerseys this afternoon.  The jerseys are EXTREMELY close to exact replicas.  Purple, Black and White jerseys are available.  The cost, a very reasonable $90 each (check Div 1 football Websites to compare price)

Remember - it will take 4 to 5 weeks for delivery.

I don't know about Cal Lu missing; but the Tommies left out seems like a glaring oversight.  Did the whole team graduate?

This from Scoop.com;

UW-Stevens Point: We have learned that former Truman State head coach / offensive coordinator Aaron Vicko has accepted the offensive coordinator job at UW-Stevens Point.  The position came available when OC Keith Turner left to become the head coach / AD at Fond du Lac Community College. Also, former Grand Valley State and Grand Rapids (Arena League) assistant Drew Burton has accepted the offensive line job at UW-Stevens Point.

I believe there were 6 who graduated, 2 of which were starters. A Huge Oversite is an Understatement.

Remember that this poll is from Lindy's!  One doesn't have to look too far to poke several holes in it. For example, the Conference Champ and AA, Illinois Wesleyan, (10-2) from the tough CCIW didn't make the list at all but Augie, (6-4,)  who finished 4th in the conference did and the runner up, North Central (8-2) placed as high as 15th.   ??? ::)

You have to forgive Lindy's.  The last time they actually paid attention to D3 football Augie was King.

Consensus Draft Service pre-season all-american team for D3. No love for Levell?...Coppage 2nd Team RB? Yep, that's what it says  ??? . IMO don't really see how!! Anyway, take it for the little it's worth.  ;)

After being an opponent of UWW last year, I am not truly impressed by Coppage.  I have seen better backs in the WIAC.   I guess we all have our opinion but I believe Coppage is as good as the O-line and QB.  If the passing game is going well then he can get the yards but . . .  If he has to get the yards himself, the team can't ride on his back!  I have been around the WIAC since 1992 and have seen much better RB's  Just my two cents.

That's definitely a UniqueInsight. Were you not impressed with Justin Beaver too? B/C he had a great O-line as well.  ::) and played behind a great passing QB.

You say you're not impressed, but yet you also make the above comment. UWW's had the best o-line, for...well...a long time now. Plus going back to Jacobs, they've had arguably the best QB's, too (at least the most effective and consistant, week in week out). If Coppage is as good as the O-line and QB, he must, using your logic, be the best RB, too. If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it must be a duck, right?

However, your other comments seem to contradict this quote. All the guy does is rack up a ton of yards, score a ton of points, and hangs on to the ball better than just about anybody the last two years...which is what a marquee RB does (oh, and helps the team win championships). What more does he have to do for you to consider him a bit better than good?

It's easy to say "so and so" would be the best back, if only he had a better offensive line and/or a QB who knew what he was doing. Football is a team game - good o-lines and good quarterbacks usually result in at least one pretty good runner in the backfield -- everything is kind of inter-related...one feeds off the other, sort of like the links in a chain. When everything is working properly, it usually shows on the won/loss record and stat lines  ;) Break a link, and things don't work out so well.

I would like to read who are the better backs in the WIAC in your opinion and why, if you got the time?

He may or may not be the best back you've seen play in the WIAC since 1992 but he's a damned good running back.  We'll take his 2100 yards, 35 touchdowns and be perfectly content with the running back that he is.  Wherever that ranks him on your list of the greatest running backs in the WIAC.  If you don't think he's capable of making a play by himself check out the game clinching run he had against Linfield in last year's semifinal game.

KitchenSink, would you mind posting the link to that video here.

One thing that's been consistant about WARHAWK football teams is the running game.  We've had a bunch of good running backs and there's no doubt that one reason for that is that we've had good offensive linemen.   And that goes back to well before we became the program that we currently are.  Even in years when our W/L record wasn't as good we usually had a pretty decent running game.
