Stanley to Canada.

Stanley to leave Canada...that's too bad  :-\

Hmm...would be interesting to know why he was released...Seems his productivity wasn't an issue as he led the team in receptions in the preseason opener? Didn't have much else to say on the Toronto Argo's site: http://www.argonauts.ca/article/argos-release-five-june-17

Why can't he do both?  A pretty successful Head Football coach in the OAC has also been the school's AD for the past 20+ seasons.

If they can get the right guy to do both, Stout school can save some bucks! :)
That is very important is these economic times!

If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Congrats, Tom, it's an honor well deserved.

I thought Naatz did a really nice job as Stout's football coach.

He probably could if he wanted to, but from reading the article, it sounds like after being on the sidelines, teaching and other stuff at Stout for 20 years, he will enjoy his time in administration. Might be able to spend a bit more quality time with his family, as well.  Good move, if you can get it!! ;)  Might even get the chance to pick his successor.

Although this might bring on a slight bit of trepidation for the other coaches at Stout:

Sounds like he'll be a real "hands on" AD.  ;)

That successful coach in the OAC is the exception to many rules.  After all, we all know that most men are not multi-taskers!   ;) ;D  Seriously, the program will miss him.  From what I have seen these last 7 years, he has been a great coach for the Blue Devils.

I don't know if this has been mentioned on here before, but ex-Badger Booker Stanley is enrolled at UWW and has one more year of eligibility remaining and will play for the Warhawks this fall, according to this on Madison.com. Sounds like he's working hard to earn his college degree and turn his troubled past around. Leipold decided to give him a chance, although had initial reservations about the potential distractions it might cause. In three seasons as a reserve at Wisconsin, he rushed 317 times for 1213 yards and 10 TD's.

I hear that Jeremiah Masoli has also been in contact with Leipold too.  We'll have to dub next year's UWW backfield as "Assult and Battery".

From the Article:
"Stanley hasn't played football in nearly five years, since he was suspended from the Badgers prior to their 24-10 win over Auburn in the 2006 Capital One Bowl."

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that once you started playing a sport in college (NCAA), you had 10 consecutive semesters to complete your eligibility?  If he last played in January of 2006, how could he still have college eligibility left?  I only played two years (1990-1991), so if Stanley can play, then do I still have two years of eligibility left???
